Bug? Biting Jabs, Selene’s, & Mechanical Acuity

I think that either Selene’s or Biting Jabs or both are bugged.

Biting Jabs procs Selene’s implying that Biting Jabs is Direct Melee Damage.

Biting Jabs does not proc the new Mechanical Acuity set implying that Biting Jabs is not Direct Damage.

(I could stop here but my editorial on proc sets and damage types is starting now)

Biting Jabs/Puncturing Sweeps does not proc Scathing Mage implying neither is direct damage.

Puncturing Sweeps does not proc Selene’s implying Puncturing Sweeps is not Direct Melee Damage.

Jabs/Sweeps benefit from Thaumaturge and not Master-at-Arms implying they are DoT and not Direct Damage.

I haven’t fully tested all combinations of Jabs/Sweeps + PROC SET, but it seems to me that I have already listed a few discrepancies in procs and naming conventions. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that Biting Jabs can proc Selene’s, but having inconsistencies in ability types can make it enormously frustrating to be able to predict whether or not farming a certain proc set will be worth while. For example I spent a long time getting 5 set of Scathing Mage only to find out that Sweeps doesn’t proc it. I had figured it would be a viable alternative to BSW (due to the fact its cool down and duration are the same) and I knew Biting Jabs procs Selene’s (meaning sweeps is probably Direct Damage too), so guessed that sweeps would end up proccing Scathing Mage relatively quickly after the cool down was up. Nope! I did get some Elegant Lining though...

Fang Lair boss fights resetting seemingly at random

Our group had finished Fang Lair hardmode after many attempts, and wanted to get the speedrun and nodeath achievements as well. We had been experiencing the reset issue on the last boss, but it would only happen before combat started and never in the middle of the fight on that particular boss. On our two attempts to get nodeath and speedrun, the resetting issue happened a lot on the first two bosses, and I recorded it on out second attempt.

Anyone try Mech Acuity and Scathing Mage for a MagSorc?

So I was thinking of trying out:

2 Ilambris
5 Mech Acuity
5 Scathing Mage

I have not tried this yet, but going for a high crit build with periods of extreme burst damage every 18 seconds would be pretty neat.

ATM I use Relequen on body and advancing yokeda for weapons and jewelry but I’m farming for war machine which will replace yokeda for weapons and jewelry. So what sets do you use in end game content? Vet or normal. How well does it work for you? I’m just curious to find other set combinations in use from my fellow Stam boyz.

The combat system in the Elder Scrolls Online is in desperate need of an overhaul. You know it, I know it, we all know it.

In this thread I would like to address the first problem with the combat system and that is weapon swapping.

First of all, I know this is a high fantasy game but it does follow some semblance of reality. Our characters move like people do and they can only sprint for so long.

So, it would seem that the game tries to be similar to reality in some areas.

Weapon swapping is a problem in ESO and it is also unrealistic. It is also a departure from how other Elder Scrolls games worked. It is more of a copy of Guild Wars 2.

In Skyrim, if you wanted to swap weapons, you had to go through a menu or bring up your favorite list. There was no hot swapping of weaponry.

This is an example of how clunky it was to swap weapons in Skyrim.

Moreover, there is no need for us to be swapping weapons. What we need is a larger range of abilities to use and a single weapon. The idea of someone running around with several weapons and instantaneously swapping from a greatsword to a sword and shield is ridiculous and is not something that is truly enjoyable. ESO has several similarities to Guild Wars and perhaps the developers thought we'd enjoy this concept since GW2 was somewhat popular.

In the first suggested step of a combat overhaul I propose that we go one of two routes. The first is to have swappable skills instead of swappable weapons. In this system you would have a single weapon and just simply swap skills. I do not like this idea but it is the least invasive.

What SHOULD be done is the skill bar should simply be extended to accompany more skills and abilities. This would add additional complexity and skill to the game.

Please let me know how you feel about this first suggested overhaul idea.

Are there any scenario's where it outperforms other AOE destruction and class skills? Why not to replace it with some skill with similar mechanics to mend wounds and overload (with less damage ofc), which will be avaible for all classes?

Defile and healing ward

So im curious about this. I feel like defile has zero effect on damage shields. Anyone else feel this way? Like a sorc with a healing ward up gets the same heal when that healing ward pops no matter if they're defiled or not.. Idk feels like somethings wrong here. But anyway just curious about it if anyone has done some testing.

I think the gap has closed between Redgaurd and Khajiit.

Stamblade- After doing some tests, my Khajiit with dubious on with a 3 million Dummy does about the same DPS as my Redgaurd with blue food. Yes, I know it's a 3 million dummy. Yes, I'm aware that longer fights are more sustain checks but I can put blue food on with my Khajiit in a raid due to synergies and never run out of Stam .

Also.. yes I'm aware.. "LOL 3 MILLION DUMMY".

Anyone have any thoughts?

Yesterday he looked like every vampire should: pale, with human eyes and so on. But later something has changed - and he lost his vampire skin. And today he still looks like a normal live elf. I'm so happy.
Don't know what will happen later, if he'll bite someone or use some vampire magic, but hope, he'll be okay on 1-st stage.
(It's silly, but I thought that in my headcanon as a vampire dunmer he should look like a normal dark elf (a bit pale skin, red eyes, who cares) - but that has become true in-game).

Kinda clutching at straws here but; I bought the power armour edition of Fallout 76 and have just received my Beta code. However, the code keeps being rejected as "invalid". I have used the dashes and have copied it exactly as it says. I can't seem to find a way to contact anyone at Bethesda to ask so thought I'd try my luck here.

I know this thread will need to be closed but my hope is a mod will contact me or provide me with a way to contact them about the issue.

I’m a new player to eso at level 21 now. I’m just grinding and leveling up and doing quests while getting the most out of my time and I’m constantly researching. I know crafting is the way to go in the future to get all your gear but for new players considering up to level 50. How do I go about getting a full set for my high elf Sorc from either levels 21-50. I requested to join a guild and motivated they have master crafters. Are there places in the game I can find a full beginner set or would I ask crafters in guilds in the future to craft a full set while giving them either gold/material? Playing on Xbox NA server. Any feedback is well appreciated I’m trying to learn everything.

How to counter Sloads + defile?

SOS I need guidance through through this storm. Mainly the 50k health people are the problem, there has to be an effective way to counter it any thoughts? Can't keep purge up enough to get rid of the defile so that's out of the window. I can't run from them because I am perma snared and rooted. I just get ran dry of resources trying to do anything against it. Even coordinated ulti dumps dont even do enough sometimes. I am not calling for a nerf because sloads by itself is not that bad at all but in combination with all that health and utility its hard to even go up against it

And NO, Clockwork Observatory isn't a Dwemer but is Clockwork. Ive loved the Dwemer aesthetic since Ive been in their ruins since the original morrowind and when homestead was announced I was hopeful that one day Dwemer architecture would be used for a homestead, Afterall we already have dwemer furniture and pipes. To my disappointment, one year later we are getting/got a ship house, a leaked psjiic house, our own piece of coldharbor, and even an island but still nothing of the dwemer?


I would love a huge dwemer home located in vvardenfell on its own little island plot, preferably not in skyrim nor hammerfell (because I like to have my gardens where the lands are fertile). Somewhere to the south where the grass is fertile, but nowhere to the east where those horrible Telvanni flesh towers would be in view.

Ok...I'm technically a newbie but have six characters that I made up about two years ago and never played.

I want to concentrate on creating a battlemage that can heal as well as attack especially as I'd like to join a guild as soon as I can find one silly enough to accept me, but I would also like to have a tank to just have fun with. Should I just start again as none are higher than level 5? What would be best races/classes for these

How many characters do you use and why?
