I was told its impossible to do with 2h in ESO, which led to my prompt logging out. If I cant play the way I enjoy I wont play. But If anyone knows a way to do this, please let me know. But this looks like a massive massive balance oversight which I cannot ignore and is discouraging me from playing at all.

Scattershot and Meatbag in Pvp right now (Non-CP)

I don´t think I have to add a lot of explanation to these 3 screenshots. Meatbag and Scattershot dots are out of control in Non-CP right now.
As a matter of fact, all sieges are. Sieges should be supporting a fight, but it should be the players deciding it, not siege weapons that take no skill and no risk to use.

Two things are the main issues right now:
1. The sieges are too strong in Non-CP and a bit too weak in CP. Please consider separating their damage numbers for the respective campaigns, as you did with NPCs now.
2. Scattershot and Meatbag are just out of control. Their ground dots deal way too much damage, especially when stacked on top of each other. Furthermore, their ground AoEs are so big that keep fights almost get impossible once some people start using the sieges cause the effect can obviously not be purged while standing in the dot. @ZOS_BrianWheeler please consider nerfing the range or damage of these siege weapons at least for Non-CP.

PS: These screenshots are from various different people in a highly optimized group setup with constant purging and minor / major protection buffs and major resolve / ward on the players.

Players kicking from vet dungeons

Arrggh LOL. I know coming on here changes nothing, but i need to vent and i feel like i want people to know. Shame we can't name players because i feel like these mongrels deserve to get ripped. But i cant remember their names so it doesn't matter.

Twice today ive been kicked from the Vet Cradle of Shadows dungeon using dungeon finder. Once during the Velidreth boss fight. I died once.

And literally just now from some CP 400 guy who voted to kick someone else before the Khephidaen boss fight for no reason. I said no, lets be team players. I fight the boss and they join in. The guy who got voted to leave quits the dungeon willingly and then after carrying the remaining 2 through the boss i say GG, then i get kicked for no reason. I invited them to party at the time and they never joined. Wonder why? :S

Why are players like this? lol. I wish you could report them for stuff like this because it really annoys me and i want their blood haha.

I want group leader next time ^-^!

There is no reason to expect a fair match in BG. CP are too slow to earn with CP 250+ DPS not doing enough damage during the daily and getting 1-shotted. I love this game but I feel like I’m better off walking away then expecting “quick fair pickup PvE/PvP”. These aren’t even Veteran dungeons.

New class -or- enhance existing classes?

$

Greetings fellow forum dwellers!
I've been mulling over the existing classes, and thinking 'in what ways would a new class need to be different, mechanically and lore-wise, in order for it to be a valid choice for future character creations.

My first thought drifts to elemental destruction magic; every existing class is pure in its study of an element. Dragon Knight= Fire, Sorcerer= Lightning, Warden= Ice. It can be argued with the use of the staff weapon tree that a second element may be brought into the characters persona, however I do not feel that it answers the want for an integrated elementalist.
There are three destruction elements, is there an archtype that would fit having three trees of destruction magic?
Consider having two or more elements in a single, elemental tree, accompanied by an alteration tree and and an illusion tree. A good mix of Alteration and Illusion would benifit a tank build, Alteration and Elemental would be self-buff DPS etc.

What is the first thing your mind renders when you consider a new class addition that you'd buy a slot for/delete an alt for?

Enhancing existing classes:

When I first picked up this game, entering Tamriel as an ignorant soul shriven, I had some incorrect pre-conceptions.
I want to wield elemental magic, so I'll choose the sorcerer and grab a fire spell here, a lightning spell there, and a few frost, just to keep that Elemental JOAT RP I'd play in Skyrim.
Buuuuut, I only have access to lightning. If I wanted fire, I'd have to devote my character to another class, and forfeit lightning (Say what?).
Lore supports that casters should be able to be pure or impure in their elemental studies; limiting other elemental damage skills to the staff type does not do justice to this point. If I want to be a spell-tank (sword and shield, primary stat magica) I'm limited to the one element.
Instead of creating a new class, what are the thoughts on adding a fourth skill line?

Pre-emptive note: while I understand skill combination and character generation choices made from a roleplay perspective first and an optimizing perspective second are not popular, I assert that they are valid.
(Edited to remove potentially bating comment)

ESO Can't find addons and user settings

ESO seems to have forgotten where my addons are. Nothing has changed with regard to location, and yes, the "Allow out of date addons" box is checked.

Opening the Addons menu shows a blank list, even with the out of date box checked. Minion finds them just fine in the same location. I have tried doing a full repair on the game with no change. Is the a way to tell ESO where to find them or find out if it's looking in a different directory for some reason?

Let's talk about treasure. ZoS: how about, next update, we add a chance for jewelry platings to drop in treasure map chests and a chance for grains in regular treasure chests.

I understand the need to maintain a jewelry crafting grind that doesn't undermine the value of end game content. I don't think it's wildly unreasonable as is, and wouldn't want to over-tweak the current system. That being said, I can't imagine that the current state of treasure maps/chests is what the devs intended.

Treasure maps are literally the only drop that I won't pick up for any reason. Garbage. When I see an open world master chest, I always get all excited and try to get it open before anyone else finds it. And then I'm like "Oh. Lighting Staff of Syvarra's Scales. Right." What is the average value of a treasure chest, 200 gold? It's more valuable to open an urn or a backpack. Make treasure chests better than spittoons ZoS!

Hi everyone,

The Fair Warriors is a currently growing guild looking for more active players to join us. We already have a bank and we're able to trade. We can provide free vampire and werewolf bites for any guild member that may want.We also have experienced crafters and warriors willing to help others become better in ESO by giving advises, providing gear pieces etc.

As for events our guild has, so far, one weekly event chosen by it's members.Once we have enough active members we'll be able to make a schedule of weekly events both PvP and PvE themed.

What are we looking for?
We want to build a training ground where everyone can gather to together tackle all content the game throws at us, be it PvP or PvE. We are looking for everyone willing to help us build and preserve this training ground.

You can either contact me in-game (@Dracopelta), leave your name here, or go to our discord server ( http://discord.gg/VSrqhqK ) to get more information.

Thank you for reading, and i hope you have a great day :)

Garden options indoors?

Hi all,
I'm kind of new to housing and I'm finding it really difficult to shop around trying to find what I'm looking for. I'd like to make an indoor walk-through garden with flower bed and boxes indoors. I'm having a really hard time finding soil or short grass to actually make it look like an indoor greenhouse. Most of the vendors seem to only have bushes, ferns, saplings etc. Anyone have any tips or know of which home goods vendors carry such things (I've been to over half the zones with no luck so far)?

Bound Aegis question

I have reset all my skills and thing of trying out something new. I am not sure how Bound Aegis works.

Is there a time limit for this? I am under the assumption that all spells have time limits. I keep thinking this is a misprint when I am reading on line forums. So is there a time limit or it's gone once the amount of damage would have happened is negated? I think I tried it once but can never tell if it's working or not so I stopped using it. I am reading a build saying I should try it, but since I am not sure how it works, not sure what to do.

Ok this is absolutely ridiculous. The freezes are server wide right now across both Pve and pvp. People are reportedly stuttering for 20 seconds or coming to complete freezes regardless of where they are.

Dragon bones introduced eternal loading screens in Cyrodill, which sucked but at least you could generally avoid cyrodill.

Now these freezes are happening EVERYWHERE which are devastating people's gameplay.

The game should be taken down and this needs to be addressed straight away. How are people supposed to do trials, dungeons, pvp or anything when the servers cant handle this?

Dolmen drops for a noob Magblade

$

Hey. I'm level 25, and my jewellery was all level 4. I just wasn't finding any anywhere. Then I heard that dolmens drop jewellery, and lo and behold, they do! And other shiny stuff too...

I'm not the grinding type, as I'm enjoying leisurely questing, doing the writs etc. But I had a little go around the Alik'r dolmens, and it was actually quite fun joining in the chase from one to the other for half an hour (yeah, I know some of you do it for hours!)

Thing is, the stuff they dropped wasn't really the right stuff for me. I want magicka enhancing stuff I think. (Or should I get health/stamina to counteract my weakness in those areas... hadn't thought of that until now!)

So I'm wondering, if I were to bother putting in an hour or so grinding some dolmens to get some stuff that would suit me - what land would be best to head to for that?

Or failing that, what lands/bosses/delves are the best place to head to look for sets that would suit a magblade?

Thanks in advance!

As Twitch is currently only shows prices in $ that you will also get charged both a conversion fee and a higher price
on any DLC/Crown packs bought through Twitch alongside the ESO 'Free' Twitch Oroborus Crate Promotion.

Depending on the current exchange rates this can vary but it is around a £2 increase on a 750 crown pack compared to the ESO store
I would hate to see the increase on both DLC's and the 21000 crown pack prices although I suspect it would be nearly double the cost!

The New Meta: Grim's Build Guide for Stamina Nightblades in Summerset

$

Introduction

Hello,

In case you don’t know me, my name is Grim, and I main a DC Stamina Nightblade on PC/NA.

I want to talk a little bit about the meta for Stamina Nightblade this patch; what changes have occurred, and how I have altered my builds in order to counter those changes. I recently published a build video, which is going to cover a lot of the content here, so if you prefer that format, I’ll link it near to the bottom of this post.

Changes This Patch

In the Summerset Chapter, three major things have changed that deeply affect the PvP landscape. The first is that 2H weapons now count for two piece set bonus’. The second is that with jewelry crafting, any number of sets can be combined that compliment one another. What this means in practice is that damage is much higher this patch, as people can easily run three (or more) pure damage sets with two 5-Piece sets and a monster set.

Another major change is the unholy prevalence of Oblivion damage, and in particular Sloads, which is acutely toxic to nightblades because as a DoT, oblivion damage pulls us out of cloak. Does this make cloak useless? Not at all. But we can’t always rely on it in the same way that we used to. At least this patch we know when cloak isn’t going to work (haha).

Adaptations

So in light of those changes, I want to talk about how I have changed my build in order to survive:

Firstly, heavy armor is out. It’s still great in duels, but in open world, you can’t predict how many people are going to be attacking you, with god only knows how many different damage sets and sloads procs (which heavy armor can’t negate anyways). To run open world with consistent success, you need a bust heal- for most this comes in the form of Rally. If you’re running heavy armor, you’ll have to run Forward Momentum to break snares. But in medium, we can use shuffle for snares, and take advantage of the massive burst healing that Rally offers us.

But we still need to be able to mitigate the enormous amount of non-oblivion damage coming our way (a one shot, unblockable sorc combo, for instance). To do this, I am running Impregnable Armor this patch. I run 2 Heavy and 5 Medium pieces, allowing me to get 9 seconds of Shadow Ward, every cast (which is easily 100% uptime if you’re paying attention), and mitigate enough damage to be able to take some heat and still slip away.

I have also been using Troll King this patch. Troll king provides an incredible amount of healing, and between the passive HoTs of Rally and Vigor, and the high health pool provided by Impreg, Troll King will proc regularly, and before you are one hit away from death. This set makes you incredibly sturdy, and allows you to fight multiple opponents without breaking a sweat.

There are other great monster set options, and if you want to imagine them in a spectrum of most defensive to most offensive, I would list them like this:

Troll King - Amazing Healing Buff (my personal choice)
Blood Spawn - Excellent balance between defense and offense via Ult regen
Pirate Skeleton - Very tanky, but I’m not sure I would risk the animation and defile without a shield.
Mighty Chudan- don’t use this, your Shadow Ward passive puts this set in the ground.
Selene- A very powerful proc that layers on top of you combo.
Slime Craw- don’t use this, we have easy access to minor berserk
Kena- Insanely powerful proc, but a little tricky to use efficiently.

If you want to combine two different sets, then do one Domihaus, and one of whatever you feel your build most lacks, whether it's crit, resistance, pen, healing, recovery, etc. Keep in mind that Selene will still be more damage than any combination of damage one pieces.

I’m sure there are other great options, but these are the ones that jump to mind.

The New Build Pattern Meta

There are two new build patterns that I think are going to arise as the dominant format in Summerset, and moving forward. Those patterns are going to be a 5-5-2 setup, where you run two 5 piece sets with 100% uptime, and a Monster Set. The second pattern is a 5-5-2-1 setup, where you have one 5 piece set with 100% uptime, a Master’s Bow on the back-bar (or Asylum/Agility weapon on the front bar) and a second 5 piece set that is only up on one bar, along with a Monster Set.

Because I am running Impreg to counter raw damage, and Troll King to heal, I prefer using the Master Bow back-bar along with an offensive 5 Piece set on my front-bar.

If you want to run a front bar offensive 5-piece, I think the best options are as follows:

Spriggan’s (Probably the best damage with a Nirn Sword- you also benefit from the 2-3 piece)
Hunding's (Good ol' Hundings. The crit and weapon damage still performs wonders, and you can craft a heavy chest. Double barring is also a good option if you don't have The Master's Bow)
Sload’s (for the meta bandwagon- it will proc from poison injection cast from your Master Bow)
Poisonous Serpent (You’ll have poison injection to proc the light attack weaves)
Toothrow (Crit is an excellent modifier, and full uptime is tempting)
Shield Breaker (If you hate yourself and everyone around you)
Shacklebreaker (A great choice if you want to double bar a craftable set)

For Defensive Sets, I think the best choices are:

Eternal Hunt (Place an annoying mine down)
Shadow Walker (Excellent regen when paired with shadow image- countered by Sload’s)
Coward’s Gear/ Jailbreaker (It’s fun to run)
Werewolf Hide (Ulti regen helps with offense and defense, and the max health helps Troll King)

Alternative Base Sets

There are more ways to mitigate damage than raw mitigation stats, and I don't think that has been lost this patch. There are several other base sets that are viable replacements for Impreg, but I think two will stand out above the rest:

Bone Pirate: Likely the best max stat stamina set in the game, Bone Pirate's Tatters provides substantial sustain and max stamina when using a drink (right now Dubious Camoran Throne). Once they fix the bug with Artaum Takeaway Broth, it will be hands down the best drink, though also the most expensive.

Shacklebreaker: One of the most well rounded sets in the game, Shacklebreaker provides excellent base stats, as well as the option to craft heavy body pieces. The sustain it provides is also notable, and the max magicka is valuable when kiting.

Consumable Buffs and CP

This information hasn’t really changed this patch, except for the addition of the new gold food, which is best in slot if you’re not running Bone Pirate (my understanding is that it isn’t functioning with Bone Pirate, even though consumables that offer both max stats and recovery have so far, all been classified as drinks). Not sure if that is working as intended. Dubious is still good. Honest Lassie Honey Tea is still good. Tri-food is still good.

All the same old potions are still going to be potent. For reference, I like:

Tri-Pots (Health, Stamina, Magicka)
Crit Pots (Health, Stamina, Major Savagery)
Immovable Pots (Health, Stamina, Immovable)
Detect Pots, and Trash Magicka pots

Poisons have been OP since they were introduced in Dark Brotherhood, I think the best effects are currently:

Double Damage
Damage and Stamina Cost Increase
Snare and Stamina Cost Increase

Nothing has changed there, these are all still dirty, and if you’re weapon is not infused, then you should be using poisons for maximum effect.

Not much has changed for CP either. I’ll list out my current CP Tree, but I’m not going to go into details unless somebody asks a specific question or offers a superior solution.

The Steed: (72 Ironclad) (38 Resistant)
The Lady (37 Hardy) (37 Ele Defender) (66 Thick Skinned)
The Tower (20 Warlord)
The Lover ( 56 Mooncalf) (43 Arcanist) (23 Tenacity)
The Shadow (68 Befoul) (40 Tumbling)
The Atronach (42 Physical Expert) (66 Mstr-at-Arms) (20 Shattering)
The Ritual (48 Precise) (10 Piercing) (64 Mighty)

Closing Remarks

If you’ve read this far, thank you. It’s a lot to sift through. I really do think that Stamina Nightblade is in a really good position this patch. We have a lot of really fun new build options, and a great balance of survivability and pressure. There are so many sets that I want to try out still, so I am hoping to make several more build videos in the near future, including an (effective) RP DW/Bow build, and a S&B build.
Have fun out there!
