The Merchant's Reserve is recruiting! We are an established trading guild with 480+ members. Stable guild trader kiosk in the city of Daggerfall and a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Weekly giveaway prizes and raffles.

While members are encouraged to actively sell and participate in the weekly fundraiser raffle, there are no mandatory dues, quotas, or other requirements. This is because I feel strongly that, at the end of the day, ESO is a game and should not feel like work.

If you're interested, please respond in this thread with your in-game account name, or send an in-game whisper to @code65536 (my mailbox is often full, though, so whispers or thread replies are usually better).

Cloak and Counterplay

$

From the first Class Rep meeting:
Nightblades
The Cloak-Detect play-counterplay is too extreme. Either cloak is *really* strong if a player can disappear with impunity or is *really* weak when the player can not disappear at all and their main skill feels useless. Need more of a middle ground.

As stated above the counterplay for cloak is either totally out of control making cloak an obsolete ability or cloak makes you immortal giving you as much control over your survival as you can have.
With the ease of use shade got this patch you can become immortal if an enemy doesn't has access to one of the hardcounters.

Here's a list of the counters to Cloak:
AoE abilities, mage light/ expert hunter, revealing flare, Piercing mark, detection potions, sloads, PotL( second hit), curse, Soulassault ( prevents cloaking for 2 seconds)

Most players will point out how AoEs are a good counter to cloak, which they techincally are but in practise they fail, Cloak is used to reset a fight either to get away or heal back to full, things like volatile armor only deal tiny amounts of damage and nothing stops a well build NB from cloaking again meaning you can't CC them afterwards or hit them with a high damage ability, if you try to pull a NB out of cloak with an AoE you are just wasting resources as the damage your AoEs deal isn't enough to negate the healing provided by vigor, rally and other sources (lingering health potions/ trollking).

This makes AoEs a bad counter for cloak as you get almost no benefit revealing a NB and are often at a disadvantage later on as you wasted resources.

The next counter is mage light and expert hunter.
Both abilities aren't widely used due to them being often only seen as a counter to one single class. This is even more the case for expert hunter as it's very expensive and doesn't provide a good secondary effect like mage light does (7% more magicka)
If they are used by someone however they negate the useage of cloak and prevent the NB from cloaking a few seconds.
This makes both abilities very frustrating for both sides, the one who uses the ability has to waste an entire skill slot for a counter that has a rather small radius. The NB on the other hand loses one of it's main defences if they are revealed by those things.
Both mage light and expert hunter need a rework to be less of a hardcounter to cloak but more viable in different situations as well.
I couldn't find any fully satisfying solution however

Revealing flare falls into the same category being only used to reveal NBs while being absolutely useless in any other situation (maybe for the 10% magregen). The main problem is that revealing flare punishes the NB like shieldbreaker does. They have to deal with massive amounts of damage only because they actively defended themselves this should never be the case that you get heavily punished for doing what you are intended to do (defend yourself).
The ability should be useable in more situations but then the damage part has to be reduced by a lot.

Now to the most frustrating cloak counters in the game:
Piercing mark: This effectively removes cloak from your bar, is extremely easy to keep up 100% of the time and is only useable by NBs making the best counter to nightblades other nightblades.
This ability needs to be reworked, it can still be a good counter but not as much as it is now.

change completely how the reveal of the ability works, the major fracture/ breach and heal duration and effects stay the same.
The active reveal gets changed to pulse every 2 seconds for 8 seconds pulling the target out of cloak/ invisibility but do not prevent casting cloak right again, after the 8 seconds the mark continues to show the last position where the enemy was out of stealth (once player is visible mark sticks to him again until he cloaks again)
This gives the caster a great way to reveal NBs and combine the timed reveal with a CC or a damage ability while giving an experienced NB the opportunity to still make use of cloak for ~2 seconds if they manage to time it right.

Sloads, i won't even bother with this set it's broken and will hopefully be nerfed in the next patch

Detection Potions the next bad designed counter at the cost of very powerful effects you can choose to ruin the day for a NB without them even knowing that you see them. On one side they are just another hardcounter but they also have ridiculously high opportunity cost that gives you a huge disadvantage for 45 seconds, an eye for an eye never was a good attempt to balance things.

Now here come rather well designed cloak counters:
PotL the weakest counter as it only works every 6 seconds and the damage part often gets removed by cloak which means it only reveals the NB after 6 seconds which is enough to heal back to full for any good build. It's still a decent ability to counter cloak without being too strong.

Curse this is like PotL but in strong, it sticks to the NB and explodes after 3.5 seconds and then a second time after 8.5 seconds, also it deals great damage countering the healing the nb got while stealthed. However it's a bit too easy for the caster to reveal the NB as you just have to use the skill and you benefit from it unless you meet that one niche build NB that uses purge and in this case you atleast drained enough magicka to make it hard for the NB to stay cloaked.

Edit hurricane is one of the most potent and easy to use cloak counters although its strength varies throughout the fight as everytime you have to recast it the radius is heavily reduced. It makes fighting NBs very easy as you have a huge AoE that reveals any NB inside of it each second.
Even though it's such a strong counter i don't see it as too much of a problem as NBs still are a potent threat to stamsorcs as their high burst counteracts stamsorcs general tendency to focus on hots and health regen with trollking.

But now here's the best designed cloak counter in the game:
Deep Breath/ Drain Essence
The first hit deals some damage and reveals the NB and then you can perfectly mix the second, the stronger hit with a CC to catch the NB.
The best thing however is that both the NB and the DK can outplay the other one, if the NB manages to get out of range it has made full useage of his cloak. The DK however can predict where the NB will go and then punish it with a fossilize or a leap right after the second hit revealed the NB.

If we had more counterplay like Deep Breath vs Cloak and less Mark vs cloak this game would be so much better.

One last thing I'm sure that not everyone will get access to something that works as good as Deep Breath to counter NBs that's why an more easy fix to increase the viability of AoEs as an counter to cloak is to simply increase both cost and duration by 35-50%
This punishes the NB more for getting revealed while also making it harder to spam cloak back to back, however then the majority of the hardcounters has to go.

When will the next ESO Live actually talk about PvP?

I recognize the new dungeons are exciting and cool. I appreciate the walkthrough. But it was disheartening that the new BG wasn't even mentioned during ESO live, let alone walked through. PvP in general was barely mentioned - about 30 seconds after 50 minutes of other content. It would be nice to have PvP as a focus of ESO Live, at least to have it be given more than a brief mention. It would be cool to have the BG previewed along with the dungeons.

The haunting curse change makes the game less fun.

You are not good at these sort of decisions.

Sloads: The Death of Build Diversity

I’ve got it, this is the reason to nerf sloads that even its defenders should be able to get behind: build diversity. Now, I know for sure (though I won’t name any names cause forum rules) that at least some people defending Sloads have ranted about build diversity this and build diversity that in the past. So answer me this, your solution to Sloads is for everyone to slot purge or use wyrd tree, ok fine. Since apparently all the Sloaders know better than the most respected content producers and theory crafters in this game, this set should be nerfed because it’s killing build diversity and forcing everyone to use one set to survive or one skill, and destroying the work ZOS has done to move away from a heavy armor meta, since health regen is the best way to counter this if you’re not a magicka build and can’t use Wyrd tree. In the name of #builddiversity nerf Sloads because ZOS says I should be able to play however I want and Sloads isn’t letting me do this.

Hey guys!

The first thing people ask us is an explanation of our guild name! The Fomorians (Old Irish: Fomoire, Modern Irish: Fomhóraigh) are a supernatural race in Irish mythology. They are often portrayed as hostile and monstrous beings who come from the sea or underground. Later, they were portrayed as giants and sea raiders. They are enemies of Ireland's first settlers and opponents of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the other supernatural race in Irish mythology. There ya go!

Fomhóraigh is a social PvE Guild for beginners! I've been playing ESO for over a year now and would love to help beginners when they are frustrated with anything, needs help on builds or any advice to make their gaming experience on Elder Scrolls Online more enjoyable! We have a Discord server which we use daily and we would love for you to join that as well! We plan to organise in-game events every week or so and to hold trivia nights on our Discord! I done this in my last guild and it was very successful!

Our Roles:
Guild Masters- Myself and our other GM sixxlaw
Members – People who join us in-game and on our Discord! Those who do get access to our Guild Bank!
Recruits- People who just join us in-game

At the moment we are just dipping our toes in the water just recruiting beginners but as our Guild grows we will expand and recruit anyone and everyone! We plan to recruit a Master Crafter for our beginners to use when they need it the most. When we reach 40 members we will be doing weekly dungeon runs, dolmen runs, delve runs YOU NAME IT! We often reach out to our members for ideas and what they would like to see in our guild! We are very vocal and we are here to make everyone’s experience enjoyable and easy-going as possible!

If this sounds like the guild for you leave your @UserID and/or Discord Handle!

We hope to see you all there! :)

This is why YOU get kicked for being low CP or bad at DPS/Heals/Tank

So past few days I decided to start going on my healer toon, trying to get as many crystals as I possibly can to finish my PVE DPS build. I've came to the realization that most peoples DPS is damn near non-existent. As a DPS even a low cp20 dps without any AOE can manage to be pulled through on my back, I mean it's not like every dungeon requires 4 people to complete on vet, at least not the vanilla ones. So I never had an issue with people, I would never vote kick people out unless they were intentionally stupid. However now my minds changed, I'm absolutely fed up with it.

For the third day in a row on my healer, I get put into a veteran group with terrible DPS. One day despite maintaining minor berserk, minor and major resolve/ward, and keeping major breach applied all damn near 24/7, I was told I'm useless. The DPS was absolutely terrible despite me doing my best to keep their resources up, and keep the buffs/debuffs up, all while healing these people. The tank is doing absolutely nothing but standing there occasionally applying taunt, the DPS is spamming light attacks, and I'm told I'm useless. I don't have to say, I left that group I wasn't going to be criticized by a bunch of casuals who have little to no understanding of how the game work, I even went out of my way to explain to the DPS they needed an AOE ability, tried to explain to the Tank he had to aggro ads, did my absolute best to keep group alive yet I'm useless because "they didn't need heals".

Now today, another terrible group. DPS does literally no AOE, most likely pulling under 10k single target, they appear to have no rotation, they're not maintaining DoTs or buffs/debuffs. I'm sitting here watching these people play and just hoping to god they'll figure it out and pull in more DPS. They were both above cp160 this time, in fact one was near max level. Yet the DPS was still terrible, even if one DPS was somewhat competent at their role it would have been much faster, yet it wasn't. It was like the DPS were two brand new players with no idea what they're doing, they're struggling to cut down trash mobs, and on the final boss of banished cells they aren't listening to me about the bubbles, they keep killing the ads and when they dont kill the ads they let too many pile up, the tank is bringing the ads near the boss and letting a few run off. The DPS is so minuscule I as a WARDEN HEALER am the one having to destroy the orbs because their DPS is so *** low they couldn't even prevent the boss from healing.

It's an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to roll as anything BUT a DPS now in days. Now I've always been the guy to go after whoever was slandering the baggage in the group. In fact as my main DPS the other day I had a cp20 dps with me who was doing no DPS at all, and he ended up getting locked out the final boss so I completed it myself with the tank and healer. They wanted to kick the guy for not knowing what hes doing and having low dps, but I defended him and gave him a basic rundown. But now, I'm tired of it. No more Mr. NicePUG. The past three days I've been put into a group with a bad DPS on my healer. And I'm not having it anymore, I understand 100% why people vote low levels and low DPS bad roles. It's because of the people I've been having to deal with these past few days. I'm aware there are low CP DPS that are actually competent and can pull out as much DPS as their gear will allow them to. But guess what? I'm not risking ti anymore, I'm not going to waste 30mins to an hour on a group that struggled to cut down trash mobs or follow basic mechanics.

So now, if you're a low CP, or just bad at the game in general and we're que'd together, I'm kicking you. If the group doesn't want to kick you then I'm finding a new one. If the entire group is bad/low CP, then I'm finding a new one. I'll wait my 15 minutes for a reque because YOU'LL still be on the first trash mob within that time frame. If people want to come onto the forums and *** and complain about being kicked from a group because they're a khajiit mage, low CP. or bad at the game then how about getting good, leveling up, and not using a *** build? It's really not hard, you can pull a bare minimum of 20k DPS with any class at any level. The only excuse is incompetence, there are plenty of public builds to base on one. There is plenty of information on how to pull more DPS. A tank or healer, they don't even have to help the group to finish a dungeon, sure it's extremely helpful to contribute resources and keep buffs/debuffs, but is it really needed? No. A DPS however, guess what if you can't do AOE damage it's not going to work. If you can pull a minuscule 20k single target dps, it's not going to work. Go role as a Healer or a Tank and get good at that, you'll get a group faster and you'll save people like me from having our time wasted on you not knowing how to play your role properly. The DPS in this game is the hardest role, a healer/tank can run through a dungeon just as quickly as a really good healer/tank, but a bad DPS cannot even compete with a good DPS. So please, if you're one of these people and reading this, LEARN TO DPS, get a build that you can at least pull 20k. You can even go around grabbing random sets and you'll manage to be a tolerable DPS. Just for the love of god stop this low DPS arguably FAKE DPS *** in ques.

When I'm the person of all people saying this, you know there's a problem.

I've noticed this last week and I keep seeing it.... In Cyrodiil and BGs my Rending Slashes will sometimes hit people for 700-800 on ticks. How is this possible? It adds 1500 per tick on the ability so cut that in half and we get 750 additional damage on (typically for me) 10k bleed.... something doesn't add up here.

I have been having a hard time enjoying dps in this game, so levelled a nb healer. I am at 435 cp atm, but people are telling me to forget trying to gear it as no-one will ever let me in a trial because Templars are wanted only?

Hoping this isn't true as I really enjoy it.

I came to this after 11 years raiding in another mmo, leading and also running harder 5 man content... and fancied a change.

If I am to be forced into a set healer then I can't stick around :(

Sun Shield, Backlash, Rune Focus Morphs

I have verse close up and i realize these Morph's and to great and need to balance out to other class skill's
for instance restoring light last part The rune also grants Minor Vitality and Minor Protection, increasing your healing received and reducing your damage taken.
Adds and sufficient time to try to kill them in game, Power of the Light skill dealing [x] Magic Damage to them and copying all their damage taken for 6 seconds and releasing 20% of it as additional Magic Damage to them. and Also applies Minor Fracture and Minor Breach to the enemy, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance and then look at Purifying Light skill dealing [x] Magic Damage to them and copying all their damage taken for 6 seconds and releasing 20% of it as additional Magic Damage to them. When the effect ends, a pool of sunlight remains attached to the enemy, healing nearby allies. Honest Power of the Light skill Should have less than 20% be reduce to 10 15% considering and fracture and breach, Purifying Light I just dont think it should damage at all should just heal allies. Next Sun Shield each enemy hit increases the shield's strength by 4% over kill considering they have a shield Surround yourself with a solar rays, granting a damage shield equal to 27% of your Max Health for 6 seconds. each enemy hit increases the shield's strength by 4% simply shouldnt be on the skill its on par as Ultimate to strong.
Blazing Shield Surround yourself with a solar rays, granting a damage shield equal to 27% of your Max Health for 6 seconds.
Each nearby enemy increases the shield's strength by 4% when the shield is activated.
When the shield expires it explodes outward, dealing 50% of the damage absorbed to nearby enemies.
No longer deals damage to enemies on activation, instead deals damage when shield expires based on the amount it absorbed.
Firstly this skill should cost more to just use it 6s people can do 0-16000 dmg add 50% thats makes it ridcously strong

Hello everyone!

As part of Update 6, we are introducing the Crown Store: an in-game store where you can purchase customization and convenience items. The store offers consumables you can use to save time on in-game activities (like experience and crafting boosters, for example) along with new customization options including costumes, exotic pets, and mounts. When the Crown Store launches, we’ll have a number of items available immediately, but what about the future? Tell us what sorts of goods and services you would like to see offered in the Crown Store – you can be as general or specific as you’d like.

You can view some of the planned Crown Store items at the following link, beginning at 23:59

We look forward to reading your ideas and feedback!

I'm getting constant disconnects. Before Summerset the game ran fine, but after it's launch I've been having nothing but random DC's plagueing my play time. The only reliable catalyst for them seems to be zone transitions, but something as random as learning a style motif can do it as well. Anyone else having these problems, and how can I solve them?

Colossal Aldmeri Grotto review

I own Grand Topal, and for a year plus have played with it. So from the perspective of someone who has owned a giant property, here’s my take on this newest addition. I’m not really discussing price...please don’t spam the thread with price comments. I’m just reviewing the place as a place to build and play.

To the dev team: first I want to applaud you guys for creating a beautiful, unique homestead. This place is just gorgeous, with so many hidden features for players to discover. The idea to put it in a granite overhang cove was brilliant...I’ve been to places sorta like this, and you really captured the atmosphere.

So, for would-be builders, here’s my first take:

The ship. This is a really pretty ship, with a lot of features that I love (the wrought iron vine work is awesome). This is a deceptively large space for all you interior decorators. At first it might appear smallish, but it’s really not. You’ve got two large spaces at the top of the stairs that would be fun to decorate, then a downstairs with a large master, two bedrooms and a large common space, as well as a small offset. I think it’s a good size...plenty of room to fill it out but not so much that it feels sparse.

Dev team kudo: the sails sway and creak in the wind...nice touch!

The seaside beaches (east and west). When you disembark, you’ll find two small beaches to either side of the ship. These are some good spots with decorating potential. I can see pros and cons. The big pro is that if you put a craft area or set in either of these spots, it’s not far from the entry point. The con is that there are certainly cooler spots way up in the ruins. I am intrigued by the potential for the rotting hull on the east (left) beach. I think some people will do cool things with it...my first thought was senche cub kiddie pool, lol. The west (right) beach has a larger wreck that offers ambiance, but not a lot of decorating potential. I think a lot of players would prefer an open beach, so I don’t love the wreck, but it’s still pretty cool.

The “hidden” pool and major wreck

To the starboard of the ship you will find a giant wreck that creates a hidden swimming pool. This is a really beautiful space, and I like the wreck being there at the 30ish degree angle. A lot of players are going to have fun being creative with this set, and it might be my first stab at decorating the grotto.

Port (left) rear beach and ground level ruins

Behind the ship sits a really nice little swimming pool and waterfall, and a small beach bordering the ground level ruins. The ruins seem intended as a perfect spot for a basic crafting pavilion. For duelers, this could be a great arena.

Dev team kudos: the flowering cherry tree is really nicely designed.

Ruins level 2

You’ve got a medium circular area at the top of the stairs that would make another great crafting location. Or just to decorate as a patio or even living space. But it would make a GREAT arena. You can make it a rule that pushing someone off the side is a win.

Ruins level 3 and “secret ruins”

A nice covered area that could be a living space...lots of potential. From this spot you can (even in preview) trick your way into the secret ruins up along the east wall. You do this by very carefully rounding the corner on the tiny ledge in the column. The secret ruins don’t really have much decorating potential...maybe some Easter egg feature for determined guildies, lol.

Runs level...sheesh...4.

Another covered area...a huge patio formed by the roof of the lower level. Lots of potential here.

The S.S. WTF?

I’m referencing how it got up there, not the dev team choice to include a shipwreck up in the cliff...because that is SO COOL. Other reviewers complained about no proper captain’s cabin. Well, here you go.

I see the Skyrim pathfinding team came in for some assistance, lol. The front of the SS WTF is hard to get to, but can be done without ramps. It doesn’t have as much potential as I thought, but it’s yet another area that I think will engage some inspired decorators.

Beyond

That’s all the space you get to explore on a preview ticket without the ability to put up ramps and walkways. But I will spend a gazillion hours seeing how high I can go, and looking for other little features and places to explore.

Overall

I give this place an A+. I have read many valid comments...the desire for a boat-only medium sized home, the challenges of decorating this place with 700 items. But for what it was intended to be - a gigantic play set for explorers and builders, it’s pretty effing fantastic.

For those on the fence...I get the price concerns. My approach is to hoard my eso plus crowns. I pay a few buck a month for the plus features, and get my stipend. I pass up the silly cartoon guar mounts and jester costumes, and for me, I’ve gotten more out of decorating my grand Topal than I would 7-8 small crown store items. Yeah, mounts are cool. At Grand Topal I build a pirate deck up in the cliff’s with a tiki bar and treasure trove. I spent a ton of time doing that, and had a blast, so I’m probably buying this one too.
