LFG returning you to the group you just left

Please can we add a check for this?

Having ended up in groups where people were both not capable of completing the dungeon and seemed to completely ignore any efforts to share tactics etc. it feels like a kick in the teeth to be sent straight back for a second 15 minute cooldown.

Cloudrest Performance Issues

Ever since the trial was released, I've had drasticly worse performance in here compared to other trials. In the likes of Asylum Sanctorium, I can get a steady 45-50 fps during fights, and it wont drop for hours either, and if it does occationaly drop, a reloadui solves the issue. Cloudrest is different, when I enter at first, and start the first fight, my fps will be at abouts 40, a few fights later, 30, and it will drop till it eventually reaches 20, which is completely unaccepable. Reloadingui doesn't seem to do anything in this case, the only thing that seems to help with these issues is to actually restart the game. Several of my guildies has the same issue, and we're now gonna go to the extent of just taking a break every hour to restart games, to combat this.

I got no idea what could be causing it, but something that was abit curious was that at the start of my raid my cpu temps at full load will usually be abouts 72 degrees on the cores, after an hour in CR it goes up to around 82/85, and stops there. Is the only way to get good performance these days to actually just buy an 8700k?

Sun+Skoria+(Spellweave vs Destruction Mastery)

Hey everybody, with the recent changes from Sumerset changing how set pieces are calculted with Staves, I'm now trying to do a 5/5/2 build and I'm stuck in a hard decision.

I'm using Sun and Destruction Mastery Currently, but I have Skoria on the sideline and plan to work it in - that said, I've been doing dungeons alot more lately and have racked up a nice amount of Burning Spellweave Gear.

I've compared Burning Spellweave to Destruction Mastery and quite frankly it all comes down to the 5th set piece bonus:
-Destruction Mastery adds roughly 2.5k Magicka total at default rarity
-Spellweave adds a 15% chance to proc. burning AND add 525 spell power at default rarity

Now, I'm having a hard time deciding because I really want to capitalize on my fire damage, since this is a pure fire mage build. That said max Magicka is good because it adds to the Magicka pool but iirc is also factored into damage calculations.

Which set would the more experienced of you lot out there choose?

Additional info:
-Dunmer Dragonknight
-Thief Stone
-58 Spell Erosion + 15 Elemental Expert + 5 Elfborn (current goal to boost up Elfborn with my CP from now on)
-57 Staff Expert + 72 Master-At-Arms
-I use Tri-stat glyphs on most pieces. A couple have Kuta Magicka
-Flame of Oblivion slotted for the Prophecy+Savagery Buff

I have an okayish rotation (I think) Light, [Flame Whip], Light, [Elemental Blockade][Engulfing Flame], Heavy - but with this I'm not hitting anywhere near the DPS I would like to be seeing. I have Obsidian Shard on for the times that I need a quick CC/Self Heal. Maybe my rotation could work isk, but it's low DPS as it stands.

Elder Scrolls Online's business model sucks compared to Guild Wars 2 (the competition)

So I recently went back to revisit Guild Wars 2 first time since the base game launched and I was blown away by how much ArenaNet delivers. Just to be clear there are other criticisms and comparisons against Elder Scrolls Online when compared to Guild Wars 2, particularly performance and weight of combat but this thread is strictly about the business model.

First and foremost, living story. Path of Fire released September of last year. Every three months, they introduce a living story update which I think the name is a bit misleading because they're basically DLC-sized quarterly updates and as long as you log in and you bought Path of Fire, you get it for free. These updates contain new maps, new cinematic quest lines and even new mechanics. Most recently, the roller beetle (part of a series of the best feeling mounts I've ever seen in an MMO). This means as long as you bought Path of Fire for $30, you get ALL the content until the next expansion comes out 2-3 years later and it also means the expansions are fleshed out more and more. This is something I wish we got out of chapters like Morrowind and Summerset which feel like they're abandoned outside of bug fixes since they're already onto the next thing to sell to us.

Here's the trailer for Guild Wars 2's latest update: image

Buy2Play Elder Scrolls Online's base game is behind a paywall. Guild Wars 2's is not and this gets really interesting because as long as you're playing within the three months that the latest living story episode (DLC) released in, you get access to it when you eventually do buy Path of Fire. It's one hell of a free trial and it's a pretty generous system.

Crafting bag. This is the most frustrating to me because I'm a player that has spent hundreds of dollars on the chapters and the DLCs outright and as I buy them, I devalue the ESO+ membership yet I'm expecting to pay the same as everyone else. It's definitely the way it's meant to be played as a crafter and if you don't buy into the membership, the game is incredibly inconvenient to play. Guild Wars 2? Material depositing is a feature straight out of the base game. I have very little reason to pay for ESO+ outside of the crafting bag so I got the chests for my house (11000 crowns) so I could have enough storage to keep one of every material in my crafting bag and have room for storing whatever loot and equipment I don't keep on me. Shouldn't have to do that. More on that later.

Costume dying? Free for everyone.

ESO+ is actively devalued as a player that buys the chapters and DLCs outright. If you're the kind of player I am that has spent hundreds of dollars on content, there's very little reason to pay for ESO+ besides the crafting bag which is ridiculous. Guild Wars 2 has no equivalent and they manage to be as successful as they are without paid quarterly expansions? They're doing something right.

So just to break it down, Guild Wars 2 is releasing an expansion once every two-three years, the content released in the meantime is free and substantial. Updates flesh out existing areas and mechanics, the base game is entirely free and the living story entitlement system accounts for your time playing only the base game in a generous way, the crafting and material gathering experience is optimal by default, outfits and gear is dyeable for everyone, there is no "optional" membership (putting that in quotes because this game is constantly a struggle to play without ESO+ if you're picking materials up, also the ESO+ membership giving double transmutation crystals is BS).

Meanwhile in Elder Scrolls Online I feel like I'm in that scene in Goodfellas but it's Zenimax Online Studios saying "F**k you, pay me".

As I said, there are other valid criticisms but the business model is particularly egregious. It's not even remotely competitive to their primary competitor and it deserves to be called out. Among friends I've referred to the game over the years, every single one of them has quit. If it wasn't performance or a lack of weight behind combat making them leave, it was the business model.

PVP Trophies

So pretty much the only reason I have a house and bother with furnishings is because of my Trophy room, which I'm extremely proud of. Given how magnificent it is you would think I only PVE but my time is pretty much split between 50/50 pve/pvp if not more pvp and the one striking thing about my Trophy room is that there are no Trophies for PVP.

SO

Would it be too much to ask for us to get a PVP trophy and bust like you do when completing a normal or veteran version of PVE content. I'm suggesting something like awarding a "normal" trophy for the first time you reach Tier 3 and a Bust for Tier 5.

I'm sure I'm not the only that thinks there should be trophies for PVP and want to know what everyone else thinks.

Lvl 20 Rewards Question

I was looking at the forums and saw a post that was talking about the Lvl 20 rewards and included a list of the rewards. The post isn't that old, only a few months. I realized that i never got the Lvl 20 costume choice (Lion Guard Knight / Covenant Scout / Mages Guild Formal Robe). My character isn't that old, so I shouldn't be missing it because I created it before the update. Did they get rid of the costume reward and I'm just being oblivious? Is it a glitch?

AU based 'Order of the Star' social guild is recruiting!

The Order of the Star is recruiting friendly people who enjoy helping others and being social - we're a social guild after all! We have members in Australia, the US and other areas of the world, so we're active regardless of the timezone! We have over 300 members at the moment (it varies, depending on the day) of all races and factions. We're noob AND vet friendly, have a very active guild chat, and are often doing guild PVE activities like public or group dungeons, world bosses and trials, and some of us are jumping into Cyrodiil for PVP activities too. We use Discord for forum-type information and discussions as well as for voice chat, and we have a weekly raffle for members to win prizes while helping the guild raise funds to purchase furnishings for the guild house (Earthtear Cavern).

We're a family friendly guild (we're a swearing-free zone), and all ages are welcome. We have rules available in Discord that encourage members to be respectful and supportive while having a good time, and we don't hesitate in quickly removing any 'bad eggs'. New members are encouraged to join Discord to read our rules and stay up to date with guild announcements and information, and we also remove members if they haven't logged in to the game in 21 days, so our guild is always active. Our goal is to have fun, and we do pretty well at that.

A bit of background... I used to be a beta tester back in 2014, but left the game soon after it went live because of all the bugs and bots. I came back after a few months when I heard they'd been resolved and eventually formed a RP guild called the Crusaders of the Seventh. After a while I took a break from the game for almost a year, and came back again in October 2016. I built the guild up again from nothing (kicking out most of the 40-odd inactive members) but focused on it being a social guild instead. Early 2017, after a week of guild discussion and voting, we changed our name and became the Order of the Star.

We're proud of who we are. We wear our guild tabards with pride. And we have a vision for our future, to be one of the best social guilds of friendly, supportive and active players in all of Tamriel.

We invite you to join us for the ride. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me a message in-game or add your in-game @username below and an invite will be coming your way!

After hitting CP160 as a Templar, what two 5 piece sets/2 piece monster set are the best to use until CP300 for Tanking. I've seen the post 300 optimum builds for trials but just wondering what should be used in the interim. I really appreciate the input!

Why all new costumes and motifs needs to dye so horribly?

$

Old costumes and motifs dye much better, colors are more intense.
Not gonna mention that a lot of parts of new costumes can't bye even dyed, or no matter what dye you use, difference is very small (Balmora costume for example).
Here are examples, all dyed with Coldharbour Black dye (sorry for potato screenshot quality):

rJckCiX.jpg

I don't know why ZOS decided to make everything "washed off", but I really don't like this design, and I'd like to have my outfits dyed with intense colors, like the old ones in the past.
I wish team that designs motifs and costumes would see this feedback. @ZOS_GinaBruno

Quality of Life Improvements???!!??

I wonder if people of ZOS know what it means, in the sense that there are so many aspects of the game that could be improved and they are not even taken into consideration, i give you some examples:
A -dungeons bugs, they've never tried to fix them completely.
B -Loot dungeons with end game random craft materials, this would bring + players to do dungeons i think.
C -Trials Group Finder, this would be fantastic, do not tell me that you have never contemplated Craglorn for at least 5 minutes :D
D -Possibility to change the champions points, without paying, for the pvp and the pve, or insert new champion points only for the pvp.

Naturally, an improvement to the servers and to all the technology that keeps this game going.
The ideas are many and i wrote this post because at the moment is as ZOS only thinks about adding new stuff and neglects all the optimizations that the game can have.
What do you think about?

Is this a bug? My dawnbreaker clearly hit the target because he was stunned and the dot was applied. Yet the direct damage part of the skill somehow "missed"??? Any explanation?

Counters to Shadow Image teleportation?

$

I know that most NB mains will probably hate this thread because it is an interesting and fun to use skill. However, please be honest and think about if there are any real counters to it for other classes.

The general problem with this skill is that NBs can use it whenever they feel too pressured and seem to lose the fight so they can instantly reset it. Most of the time they use their shade to teleport to a position behind objects or to teleport to a much higher position. A prime example of this are the towers at resources. Imagine a 1v1 where the NB is on the losing end. The NB player could just jump off the tower and then teleport right back on it when you try to follow him. This basically let’s NBs reset fights at an incredible low cost with no real counter play. With enough objects around, it seems to me that you can’t kill a competent (stam) NB with most other classes in a 1v1 scenario.

So, let’s look at some possible counters and why they don’t work (well):
1) Pulls (DK chains, Silver Leash) and gap closers:
In 99% of the cases the NB will teleport to a position that is either much higher or behind a wall so this is pretty much useless
2) Trap skills (Trap beasts, Daedric Mines) and AOE snares (Caltrops, Eruption):
In case of stam NBs they will always have access to snare/root immunity. The damage of these skills will also most likely not be enough to secure a kill.
3) Delayed damage (Curse, Meteor) and DOTs:
In principal this could work, but since you can’t apply more pressure after the teleport, Vigor + Troll King will let them outheal it. In case of meteor they can just teleport right after they see it coming and then block it. DOTs on the other hand can be suppressed by cloaking after the teleportation.
4) Mobility skills (Expedition buffs, Streak, Sprint):
In most cases you will have to traverse a very large distance to the point where the NB teleported to. This means that you will have to use a much greater portion of your resources than the NB to get there ‘fast’ and still need much more time to reach the point.

The only class that I can think of that could maybe counter this would be a magSorc using delayed damage + mines. It would be nice if some of them could share their experience. For most other classes it seems like a hopeless fight.

Here are some possible solutions:
1) Make the Shadow Image work like an instant gap closer to your shade. This would mean that you can’t teleport to it when the shade is behind a wall or at a large vertical distance compared to your position. For compensation: if you can’t teleport to an existing shade place a new one instead and get the full magicka cost refunded.
2) Whenever a NB teleports to its shade, enable a single synergy for an enemy player so that he can teleport alongside the NB. Would be an interesting solution, but it must be a system that still prevents getting into enemy keeps with this.
3) Significantly increase the incoming damage and suppress the ability to cloak for a short amount of time after teleporting. This would allow DOT builds to maybe secure a kill.

So, what do you think. Are there any counter options I missed, or does this skill need some rebalancing?

Auroran Knight kinda sucks?

It's always nice to see more full plate overly fancy outfits, and was somewhat hyped for the Auroran Knight. Unfortunately it does have issues.

On a normal imperial male build his legs look extremely fat.

Then to the deal breaker. His back armor is glued to his legs like breton hero.

Plus it arguably doesn't dye that well.
