Zos why do I spend so much money and I can't get the cat merchant and banker? It's Elsweyr themed

I have been positive throughout all of the changes etc but this upset me. I have subbed for years now and bought all the limited edition expansion/chapters, many notable homes, costumes etc ....as has my partner. I buy so much from you I'm going to go broke. But to do this to me?
I just bought limited edition Elsweyr and have crowns for upcoming house...i just bought an extra character slot for my 3rd necromancer. I wanted tank, healer and dd.
I bought the torch emote and the explorer costume too to go with this chapter. I had no idea about the new merchant and banker coming up.

These kitties would look great in my palace or new Elsweyr house but I cannot afford to give you more money for items that ...say server gets switched off all the goods I paid for are just on loan really or rented ....gone.

This has to be one of the most expensive games I have ever played. Please consider those of us that are long term, constant supporters of eso monetarily. We cant keep forking out so many $$$$$$.At least allow us that have the merchant and banker from before be able to have the kitties in our Elsweyr house. If it's doable.

I made this thread here because I needed to vent and I could not post in other subsection.

Wood Elf/ Bosmer losing stealth passive, An open letter.

$

Wood Elves have always been a stealth based race and the main reason to choose these tiny characters is their innate stealth. PVE enemies in this game do not hide, so changing these characters to detect hidden enemies removes an enjoyable and realistic game mechanic and provides no benefit.

I have given feedback regarding the proposed change to this passive here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/453572/bosmer-racial-change-that-is-illogical-and-unnecessary/p1
And I have polled the forum with the conclusion that no one uses stealth detection in pve here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/458818/do-you-use-stealth-detect-in-pve/p1

Firstly, Wood Elves have always had a head-start bonus to the stealth attribute for the past 5 Elder Scrolls titles. In 3 of those titles, they had a greater bonus to sneaking than any other race. For 5 years in TESO we have used this passive to great effect in all game modes. It is a valuable passive as evidenced by: the continuation (and even improvement) of stealth for Khajiits; two zone DLCs that benefit from this passive; trial and dungeon mechanics that take advantage of being in stealth; and the number of dismayed replies on your official forums.

In the developer notes it states that “many enemies in Tamriel can’t be bothered sneaking about!” The conclusion to replace it with 3 meter stealth detection is a contradiction because if enemies can’t be bothered to stealth, then we don’t need to detect stealth enemies. There isn’t any pve content available in the game that uses stealth detection. In pvp, 3 meters is actually a negligible amount of stealth detection because of how pvp is currently played. Stealth is used from a distance in order to stack bonuses from the Bow skill line. Stealth in melee range, at the pace of the current pvp climate, requires a skill (Vampire or Nightblade) or a potion. Being able to detect within 3 meters is not enough time to even block before a blow from stealth. “Gankers” will not disappear with the removal of this Wood Elf passive, they will just switch to Khajiit for the crits.

The identity of this race, from the first game, have been stealthy archers and thieves. It needs to remain an innate ability of the smallest race in the game to hide better than the largest. Moving this out of the racial passive and into another skill line is not a solution because a large character, such as a Nord, is realistically not as sneaky as the smallest characters. This change goes against the original vision, the established precedent, in-universe realism, and the lore within the game itself. The point of choosing the smallest character model in the game is that it’s better at hiding.

Regarding your dev note, “Previously this passive was shared between Khajiit and Wood Elf, and didn’t help them feel distinct enough from each other.“ Players expect that the smallest characters are the sneakiest, and the effort to make this minor distinction is not worth the cost of removing the main appeal of choosing Wood Elf. Khajiit and Wood Elf are already distinct enough from each other, in physical design and fighting style.

Please, reconsider this change. Stealthiness is THE identifying attribute to this race. The proposed change to this passive is disruptive and counterintuitive. Wood Elf hiding ability has been an established precedent for all 5 TES games and the past 5 years in this game.

My opinion of the Magicka-based classes (PVP)

$

This is just my 2 cents worth concerning the "balance" of magicka-based classes. Take what you will from it. I have a character in every class that I run anywhere from solo, to small man, to large groups in Cyrodiil. I try to be a "purist" when it comes to magicka-builds (ie: I try to run as many class-based skills as possible... but there's usually one or two non-class skills in the bulids). As a little insight to how I make my builds: I normally stack armor sets toward the highest 100% uptime damage possible and then tailor my regen/resistances around those builds. I always shoot for a 5l/1m/1h setup with at least 2k crit resist, 10k penetration, 23k resistances, and 1700 regen. This is how I would rate the "effectiveness" of each class:

#1. MagSorc (Innate, Netch, Mighty Chudan) High burst and mobility. They're the "executioner" of group play. I will get the killing blow. I don't play with pets, though- so my self heals are lacking.

#2. MagBlade (Innate, War Maiden, Slimecraw) High damage and high group heals. It feels amazing to Lotus Fan into a group, burst with Soul Siphon, and then Sap away- all while adding heals to my party. The only thing I miss is the speed now that it's been taken away from Double Take.

#3. MagDK (Innate, Silks, Domihaus) Good damage with a lot of group utility. Though their heals are selfish- my DK adds snares, immobilizers, and fantastic synergizes to my party. I wish they had a better shield or small self purge.

#4. MagPlar (Soulshine, War Maiden, Mighty Chudan) Very good group heals/utility and good damage. My channeled abilities (Dark Flare, jabs, jesus beam, and soul assault hit like a mother). I wish that we had a functioning immobilizer and Dark Flare's cast time was moved to .5 seconds.

#5. MagNecro (Innate, Rattlecage, Valkyn Skoria) I absolutely love the synergies and group utility for these guys. My only complaint is that they're a little too "giving" and they don't really have some pretty major self-buffs. Some form of major/minor expedition added to one of their skills would be appreciated and their immobilizer should do a little damage.

#6. MagDen (Innate, Ysgramor, Domihaus) As you know- they've got a ton of immobilizers and stuns that annoy people. Their damage is lacking (but there's been a few builds lately that have shown potential). The only thing I'd like to see is that they get the old Arctic Blast back and perhaps make Feral Guardian viable in PVP.

Again- I'm sure everyone has their opinions of the "meta" for each class- but I'm sure some of you who play multiple classes can agree on some of my points.

lorebooks no longer glowy blue

Leveling mages guild on console is much like suicide, but slower and leaves you much more dead inside. But I just created a new sorc and would really like to find these books - and am finding now that they no longer make themselves apparent. So if you see one on a barrel in a tent... you don't actually see it. Or at night, in a grassy area next to a warewolf camp (where I'm standing right now), you just walk right over it - it's like it doesn't exist unless you're lucky enough to look at it as you pass and see the prompt to read it. They don't glow and they aren't blue, like they always had been previously.

*sigh. Add this to the impossibly long list of things that make me not want to play this game. I'd say it's a big deal and demand that it gets fixed, like nightblades and DKs are prone to do, but am torn because I'd really rather walk 10 steps without a loading screen. What to do, what to do.

No need for tears for Magnecro!!

After seeing all the hype and tears and whining on here and other places in regards to MagNecros and how they suck I have to say I am surprised and very please that its just the opposite, for me at least!
With the recent rash of Stamcro bugs and them not being fixed (dying, lol, yea that's a good one!) I rolled a Magcro just so I could keep trying the class and man oh man (can I even say that these days, lol!) I was shocked at the damage I did and am still doing, and I am only level 20!! Far exceeds any other mag class (sand NB) that I have played and at such low levels I can only hope that it gets better as I go!
Have a set of False God waiting and I must say the playstyle is fun and the aoe...boy oh boy! Now single target is a bit lower but that's to be expected, stam is just always going to shine there as they have the toolset for it.
But for a ranged class I had NO ISSUES with the Blastbones or any of it. Granted, its a learning curve for sure, you cant spam. I mean een with Warden shalks you could spam to some degree whereas with Blastbones it takes some awareness but once you learn to keep corpses down it just flows.
So yea, still buggy if some regards but nothing at all compared to what you read. Now that's not saying those folks didn't have issues, just that lucky for me I am finding it heaps fun and powerful and getting to max will be a blast I reckon.
In the meantime maybe ZOS will fix some of the issues with Necro as a whole and we all can rejoice in the carnage!!!! ;)

Xbox NA. Ever since patch maintenance this is ridiculous. We can’t even take a keep because we will be sieging and get a random load screen. We wiped several times because of it. We’ve put up with it when the keep flips and stuff but now it’s random like all the time.

The "Balance" of Mag Sorcs

How do developers feel about having a class that can easily be played by turds being able to dish *** of damage, have the best mobility in the game, pets that *** up the targeting whilst dealing consistently HIGH damage and ABSURD heals and also the best shields in the game? They rightfully nerfed broken things like old Reflective Scales and even went for straight changes to skills that have always defined a class from the early release of ESO (Relentless Focus giving Minor Berserk), yet they can't freaking remove the entire *** class scaling off Magicka for EVERYTHING (Damage, Sustain and Survivability).

Pathetic really

With faction lock now being bugged and all, why not a 30 day none locked campaign?

$
0
0
As someone who does not care about pvp and only do tier 1 every month for crystals, faction lock did nothing but hinder the amount of pve I can do since my monthly income of transmute crystals almost halved. Now with the campaign end it seems both my 30 day campaigns are locked to the same faction without setting a foot in Cyrodil. Which will make it even harder for me to get crystals.

Why can't we just have a none locked campaign for those of us that do not care at all about factions?

If the locked campaigns die with this change maybe faction lock was a bad idea in the first place?

Or maybe, give us 50 crystals for tier 1 in the 7 day campaign?

I'm actually fairly impressed with Magdens

$

Months ago I made a magden with the intent of building the trolliest PvP toon possible- snares, immobilizations, etc. She turned out to be fairly ineffective at anything, so I pretty much shelved her. I've been working on vMA on a magblade and was having some issues with her lack of burst heals and CC abilities. Someone on Reddit posted a video of her/his magden parse and I thought it looked pretty neat and fairly effective (37ishk DPS) so I decided to try taking my magden into vMA. I'm still working on getting all of her skills leveled up so I've not yet taken her into vMA, but I'm pretty pleased with the results of my first parse with her

u2OFdRS.png

My best parse on my main (stamblade) is 45k, but my best magicka 3 mil parse is around 37k with my magblade, so the magden's not super far behind, especially given that this was my first parse and that her gear isn't at all optimized- her Necropotence armor is still purple, as is one piece of the Zaan set, and Zaan and Spell Strat are hand-me-downs from the magblade that I'm using while I finish up her False God's set and decide on a monster set.

I get that it's still behind other classes in terms of DPS, but I'd say this is good enough for almost any end-game content. I haven't taken her into any dungeons or trials and I know that Zaan is generally considered a "cheese" set, but even without I think that she'd pull decent enough DPS to do almost all content in the game.

Also, it's FUN! Surprisingly fun. And with the above rotation I only use five skills in totality (shalk, cliff racer, fletcher, blockade, winter's revenge) along with the netch. Once she's got all of her skills there'll be channeled acceleration + self-heals as well, but, at least relative to the magblade rotation, it's fairly straightforward. She's also been performing surprisingly well in PvP with this build- I swap out SS and Zaan for Vicious Death and Thurvokun and have been pretty shocked at her survivability and damage output. Granted, I'm pretty terrible at PvP but I've never gotten this many kills before.

BiS? No. Ideal for optimized vet raid groups? Probably not, since, as people have mentioned, they don't bring anything particularly unique to the table and have relatively low DPS. Fun and versatile? Absolutely. If you're not looking to top the leaderboards for vet trials/vMA/etc then I think this is a pretty solid choice that people shouldn't be so afraid to try due to its reputation for being so weak. It definitely needs some love via buffs but it's still a comfortably strong class to play.

Now that GamePass is on Xbox and PC and since ESO is already offered on GamePass it would be very beneficial to include a discount on ESO+. This would entice new and current players to subscribe and try out all the wonderful DLCs while giving them access to the additional benefits as well.

My attempt at a custom House within a House (advice welcome)

$

I walked into the Temple House in Rimmen and checked out the Halls of Collosus "Wing", and actually fell in love a little with the spot. I then got a rush of inspiration from what Elara does with Houses on the PTS so I spent like 30k gold on wood planks and stone blocks and went to work.

XHTW7JM.jpg

I have no idea how to make it even half as pretty as what Elara can accomplish. Then again, she had access to ALL furnishings without cost while I'm on a budget, and even then I don't know what specific merchants to go to for the right props to create a House structure besides the Cyrodiil Merchant for the planks and stones. I'd like something to act as a more flat floor surface as well as a possible replacement for those wood planks so the walls aren't see through. I know my character learned a couple platform recipes but i forget what they look like and how big. I'm also VERY hesitant to start moving all my decorative furnishings over from my Sleek Creek House. I spent a lot of time on that one and it's utterly gorgeous, and I was hoping for a much nicer practical house in Rimmen.

“Show additional ally effects” option should be turned ON by default!

It's fine to have to option to turn it off, but it should be turned ON by default!

Sorry for this long post but this is my first post and I think it's very important for the game. And btw I am not a native English speaker, sorry if there are mistakes, but I am doing my best.

I'm playing on PC.

Some say that hardcore Elder Scrolls fans don't enjoy Elder Scrolls Online... but that is wrong!
I love this game so much – and I am a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series overall and my girlfriend also enjoys the games so much she even has a Elder Scrolls tattoo. I did not enjoy ESO when it launched but after some very good changes the game grew into that amazing MMO we all hoped it would be! And I believe it is your (the companies) ability to not be afraid to make changes that makes your game so successful.

Now to the topic:
It's not that fun to play in group if people don't know what the others are doing.
So many players don't even know this option is there and they don't turn it on because they think it will make the game lag or they assume they can see everything already.

Why Show additional ally effect option should be turned ON by default!
Concerning – Group/Team-play/coordination
When people play as tank they want to see what team mates are doing, where to move, where not to move etc.
When they play as a sorcerer they're getting yelled at for not doing anything – but on their screen it's raining with fire and thunder... but nobody can see that. Too often an ultima is wasted because they can't see what the other player is doing since they can't see certain effects. Often a special ability is used and the tank is running away from the effect... because it's not shown on his screen. If it is too much for some tanks they can simply turn it off.
But being able to see all that happens in a battle is vital for the strategy and group coordination and placement. It also helps timing, when to use your ultima ability since you can easily see when others have used theirs etc.

Why Show additional ally effect option should be turned ON by default! Concerning new players
So sad... many new players don't really know this option is there and they don't know really what it's doing. To put it short they don't know that there is something they can't see. I think this would spark even more interest in other classes and special gear if others could see the ally special effect. To be honest many classes look so boring and dull when this effect is turned off... I know that there are some who like to have it visually clean – but I think most gamers deep down love noise and chaos! Yesterday I played with a new player and I did the same ability again and again... but after some time when I told him to turn the show ally effect on… (because he was running away from the effects) he suddenly out of the blue wanted to play a sorcerer because he saw the cool looking effects – do you see...? He was not interested in that class before… he thought it was dull at first... but then he saw all the effect.

Why Show additional ally effect option should be turned ON by default!
Concerning show off!
It's not really that awesome to finally get the right undaunted gear set – when only you can see the effect. So many of them are so cool and by being able to see the effect people would maybe strive more after it. So many classes seems a bit dull... but after I turned the effect on... good lord so many awesome things... My girlfriend jumped right out and started a new class because she saw a cool looking ability. That class was a good part of the game, she would have otherwise missed out on.

Too often have I heard something like - “Did you see that? Did you see that firestorm?” “What fire storm? I saw nothing...” You know that moment when you feel really epic… it's pretty lame that nobody really experience that same moment when you summoned that amazing awesome badass effect... I could be wrong but for me the roleplay element is also the abilities your character has.
It all comes down to this… It's not really a shared experience of epicness... it's more a separate experience of epicness...

Why Show additional ally effect option should be turned ON by default!
Concerning identity and personal feel
I can only speak for myself. I play video games to feel epic and I think many want it to be a shared experience… if most can't see your effect... why even make a unique character? for me it's like spending time on a characters hair cut and you think it looks good but on the other screen it's a total different hair... it's a bit the same with the effect... it should be a shared experience.
Many people like to have a unique character, a character they have made, formed, grown to know and understand in their own head – it might be an MMO, but it still is an Elder Scrolls game – and a big part of that personal feeling and touch is also the abilities a character uses. It is a big difference to me if people see me as a fire mage or a frost mage, and also my general fighting style – when I do things, how I do them.

----

I know some people might not care, and I know it is easy to say “Well, just turn it on”, but how should I (as a new player) know it is even there? I played for two years before I found out about this, because when I read about it in settings, I did not understand what it did. I thought I could see everything already and “additional” effects was just that – additional – not the core elements of my teammates' play style.
Many people don't know this, and I don't know how they should find out, if someone does not tell them. The only reason I found out was because I played with my girlfriend and suddenly I could see on her screen that there was nothing on there, and she had never seen any of my cool abilities.

I know people who have left the game due to this small detail. It really comes down to this... is it a mmorpg? Yes – we play it to meet people, to experience something epic, to go on adventures – and to delve into our characters... but what is the fun if only I can see that?

We want noise!
I know the argument has been made that to have it on would make too much visual noise but those people can simply turn it off...
It makes sense to have in turned on by default!
Many tanks want it to be.
Many new players will enjoy the game even more.
It's more fun to play with others.
Team play is easier.
The game is more interesting and an epic shared experience.

Of course there should be an option to turn it off, but it should be turned ON by default!

Okay, the first time I posted about it some 6 odd months ago, and the first time I received no replies, was fine. Maybe you saw it, but didn't want to respond, for god knows what reason. The second time was a little less fine, but still fine. The third had me scratching my head. The fourth had me getting flustered in pent up frustration. The fifth had me seething in rage. But this, this is an utter joke.

In the last 30 minutes, I have had to endure the 20 minute penalty because of your *** useless group finder, not once, but twice, on the same *** character. I've made multiple threads over the span of the last 6 months, pointing out this bug, but to no avail. Whether you never saw them, despite the fact that I've pinged everyone relevant to the discussion, or whether you just don't give a damn, I don't know. But this is getting to be beyond a joke, and it's seriously making me question how long this game can continue going on for, especially when you consider the other things going on (just look at that thread about PC EU performance, that's just sad).

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_BrianWheeler @ZOS_RobGarrett @ZOS_MattFiror

At this point, you have to be aware of the bug I'm talking about. You have to be aware that the battlegrounds group finder can sometimes fail to find a 3rd, which means the match is unable to start, even if you wait upwards of an hour. If you aren't aware of it, then you're living under a *** continent, because the forums have collectively yelled at you for at least the past 6 months over it.

gv7GmN0.png

jYBogBE.png

Both of these images are 23 minutes apart, taken in two different matches (despite the same map and red being the team to not get a 3rd, one was a domination, the other a deathmatch), and I got a bugged match twice in a row, on the same character, forcing me to endure a 20 minute penalty, where I can't play the content I want to play, because of the game's *** up. A workaround for this is so damn easy, literally involving just checking if the match is still in the "finding players" stage before giving a player the penalty for leaving, and yet you can't excuse a PVP dev for 5 minutes to throw 1 line of code in to address an issue that has plagued Battlegrounds for years. I genuinely don't know what to say.

Changing gears for a moment, if we take this gamebreaking bug that has been a problem for years, on top of all the other bugs that have also been a problem for years, then look at them alongside the recent server issues across all platforms, I have two questions for you, Zenimax.

Firstly, to mirror another thread, do you actually care about the state of the game, Zenimax? You are, quote, "killing it", and yet you can't put any resources back into the servers, let alone address bugs more than every 3 months, let alone let a developer have 5 minutes away from the latest shiny to fix gamebreaking bugs. Your blatant negligence has led to probably the worst, period, ever, period bout of performance issues this game has seen in the last few years, if not the game's whole lifespan. So, once again, do you actually care about the state of the game, Zenimax? Because your inaction kinda shows you don't.

Secondly, as an extension of the first question, how long do you think this can last with your blatant negligence, Zenimax? Unless you make some rather big changes, I foresee the game imploding in 6-12 months, as more and more newer players come in causing the servers to be more and more overloaded, and a good portion of the classic WoW community inevitably comes to ESO when the nostalgia wears off. To every player reading this, and to Zenimax, if you think the performance is bad now, imagine what it will be in the next 6-12 months, if nothing is done to remedy it.
