Light armor needs a damage buff.

Generally speaking (there are some exceptions) stamina builds do more damage than their magicka counterparts at a lesser resource cost.

Stamina builds generally have lesser mitigation to bypass and can achieve much higher weapon damage than magicka builds can reach with spell damage.

Now, I know the damage calculations between physical and magickal damage are slightly different, but it's been long since the game reached a point where the difference in damage output became too great.

Therefore I want to suggest that the concentration passive for light armor is adjusted to offset this difference. Rather than giving spell penetration that equates to roughly 7% damage, change it to copy the 15% damage bonus medium armor grants.

In other words, make the concentration passive give a 15% damage increase to magical attacks instead of its current spell penetration.

I think this would go a long way in order to solve the imbalance between stamina and magicka that we are experiencing now.

a large range debuff, lets say 28m-ish (don't need to be too specific so if someone has problems with ARG IT SHOULD BE 30!!!! well that's fine, calm down)
that reduces the effectiveness of all damage and healing by 1-2% per friendly player within that range with a 50% ? cap ?

your alone? no debuff

4 man group? 4-8% debuff

48 man omegalul zerg? 48-50% debuff


essentially an automatic brute force scaling balance that does not have some sort of favorable mechanic that players can abuse at small scale / solo level.

ZoS this is absolutely absurd. When are you going to fix it? The skill hits 3x at once, honestly this is as bad as players being invisible unintentionally form that costume a few months back. I've gotten so used to it that it's practically a feature.

Jumping should cost stamina and have a scaling cost factor as it's currently a free combat ability that exploits hit box functionality.
Change my mind.

Alteration Staff Skill Line: Magicka Tanking

Several expansions have passed (with a new one on the way) and ice staves are still trash. Why? Trying to slap on a half-baked tanking mechanic to a DPS weapon skill line is BAD. The answer is to have a skill line for magic users DEDICATED to tanking, with passives to augment and support it. Alteration magic is defensive in nature, providing protection, altering defenses, and providing utility effects – tanking is natural fit for this school of magic. Any values presented in abilities listed below are subject to change and are only there for illustrative purposes.

- Alteration staff heavy attacks would restore magicka and blocking with Alteration staves consumes magicka. Alteration staff attack animation is similar to the Restoration staff.
- With Alteration staves taking over the role of magical tanking, Ice staves and their passives can be re-focused on damage.

Alteration Staff Skills:
Vex: Target an enemy with an energy blast up to 28m away, afflicting them with Major Breach and taunting them for 15 seconds.
- Morph 1: Target is also afflicted with Major Fracture for 15 seconds.
- Morph 2: You also gain Minor Heroism, granting you 1 Ultimate every 1.5 seconds for 9 seconds.
Transmute Flesh: Caster alters their flesh into a hardened metal, gaining Minor Ward and Minor Resolve for 20 seconds.
- Morph 1: Enemies striking the caster are afflicted with Minor Maim for 12 seconds.
- Morph 2: Reduced cost and caster also gains Minor Expedition for 20 seconds.
Burden: Caster fires a blast of energy in a targeted 8m radius area, dealing X magic damage and snaring all enemies in the area by 30% for 4 seconds.
- Morph 1: Radius increased to 12m.
- Morph 2: Deals significantly less damage, but increases the snare to 70%.
Molt: Caster magically sheds off malignant effects, purging up to 2 negative effects.
- Morph 1: Caster also purges 1 negative effect from a nearby ally.
- Morph 2: Reduced cost and can purge an additional negative effect.
Illuminate: Caster summons a Magelight that occasionally attacks nearby enemies and provides Minor Protection for 25 seconds. Magelight attacks with small blasts of light, dealing X magic damage. (Counts as pet)
- Morph 1: Targets struck by the Magelight are afflicted with Minor Vulnerability for 10 seconds.
- Morph 2: Magelight no longer attacks enemies, but decreases the cost of your active abilities by 3%.
Ultimate (250) - Mass Transmogrify: Caster unleashes a large blast of energy, dealing X magic damage in a 12m radius. Enemies damaged by this ability are afflicted with Major Mangle, lowering their maximum health by 15% for 8 seconds. (Bosses immune to Major Mangle)
- Morph 1: Significantly increases damage dealt.
- Morph 2: The Major Mangle debuff can no longer be purged, but duration is decreased to 4 seconds.

*Just to be clear, the Major Mangle debuff is applied to enemies AFTER the initial damage is dealt.

Passives:
- Reduces the cost of blocking by 20%/36% while an Alteration staff is equipped. Fully-charged heavy attacks with an Alteration staff channel 10%/20% faster.
- Blocking an enemy's melee attack with an Alteration staff afflicts that enemy with Minor Magickasteal for 5/10 seconds.
- Decrease the duration of negative effects on you by 10%/20% while an Alteration staff is equipped.
- Blocked incoming enemy projectiles have a 5%/10% chance of being reflected back to the attacker.
- Attacking an enemy while affected by a negative effect has a 5%/10% chance to transfer the negative effect to the target.

Well, that's it. Let me know what you all think. I feel this a much better solution when the alternative is gimping an entire elemental damage type and aspiring cyromancers the shaft. Magical tanking is a neat thing - it was just poorly implemented with frost staves. Tanking NEEDS a skill line dedicated to it - magical tanking should be no different.

To pre-order Greymoor you get Morrowind, Summerset, Elswyr and base game for immediate access. At the moment, I only have the base game; but this seems like a great way to get caught up!

Will this act like an upgrade? I mean will my characters and game progress continue with this pre-order? Or does have to start new account?

Streak and convert spamming is a huge issue plaguing this game

Players constantly spam streak and convert, abilities that are in themselves overpowered for the cost. Streak is a huge aoe, hard CC, does decent damage, is a gap closer that requires no target, meaning it works as both an offensive and defensive ability and is used by stamina (the same reason petrify had a huge cost increase), the current 50% increase in cost is not enough, the ability should have a cost increase of 100% every time it is cast out of cooldown and the base cost increased by 1k. Likewise on Convert, the Ability is too often spammed, remove the channel from this ability as well as the instant resource return and make it like siphoning/leeching strikes, giving the full resources at the end or throughout then time of the buff. This would help improve sorc sustain in PVE and stop the spamming of a poorly balanced ability.

INB4 “SoRc NeRf ThReAd”, most people are bandwagon meta hopping petsorc players anyway, as its virtually unseen out of a zerg when its not the best solo class.

Why are players dropping like flies?

So, what's the plan? All the big guilds seem to be disbanding or have disbanded on PS4, I have heard of an exodus pre dragonhold on PC as well. All the veteran players seem to have lost interest or just stopped bothering.

It's getting harder to find a good group to even do vSS. Forget vCR. Yes, there are a few groups running around doing the hardest content but it seems a huge number of population has given way.

Is this the beginning of the end? I've played on PC since 2015 and on PS4 since 2018. Things haven't been so dismal in the past 4-plus years.

P.S, I understand dps dropped considerably this patch making the end game harder than before. But most of that content was being done with even less of a damage output when it came out.

Is it perhaps because of the absolute clueless attitude of ZOS? Like triggering people because they can't figure out what they are doing patch after patch?

I'm just trying to figure out if I should invest more time and money or maybe finally move on and wait for a new Elder Scrolls :/

Edit: no this is not a I quit thread. I still love this game and hope that I am wrong about my feelings.

Tyrs Paladium is a multi-game, drama free guild made for players aged 30 and older that is celebrating over 10 years of establishment. We were founded in 2008 in the DDO community, expanded to Neverwinter, Guild Wars 2 and into ESO during its Beta! (Recently we even added Path of Exile to our guild game family!)

As an original ESO FOUNDERS GUILD Tyrs has seen the many ebbs and flows of Tamriel’s citizens and lived to tell the tale! Still, even an established guild needs new blood now and then...

I'm sick of the PVP Dizzy Swing spam meta

It's time to buff other spammable for stam classes, and make them viable.
ANY other spammable i tried beside Dizzy Swing placed me in a BIG disadvantage.

Alright, You made dizzy nicer and now EVERYONE, EVERY single stam player use this skill.

I'm fine with Dizzy Swing gets it's place at the wall of honor again,
But when 99% of stam players use this skill, you know something is wrong.
I dont ask you to nerf it, But simply buff and adjust animations to other dead spammable and provide us more options.

List of skills you can adjust to open more options:

Heroic/Deep slash - My kind of gameplay, it feels like uselss, unless youre a PVE tank.
Power Slam - How the hell, bashing your shield into someone else face does not damage than slicing them?!
Hidden Blade - Good stats wise, but no one will ever use a ranged spammable on stam class, unless they are snipers.

DK:
Stone Giant - See HiddenBlade, but also add a cast time lul

Stamcro:
Flame Skull - See HiddenBlade

Stamsorc:
It needs a spammable, cuz in this class case, its actually forced to use dizzy

Stamden:
Dive - See HiddenBlade

Give us more options and add depth to combat.
Its so boring at the moment.

NERF (FIX) GUARD NEGATE and CCs IN PVP

The amount of negates the guards place on a single player getting chased by multiple enemies is just Ludicrous.
Imagine being a magblade being chased by templars and sorcs and get negated thrice in immediate succession by the stupid guard AI.... Worst design ever.
And the even worst part is these negates are placed right on the player and affect two levels of a tower.

Guard AI in general is broken in Cyrodiil. so many soft ccs, double ccs, ccs that cancel your animation but do not apply the effect (wasting global cooldown). I could survive a 1vX, while it is ridiculously difficult to even 1v1 with guards around.

There should be atleast a 15-20 sec delay between each negate by the guard , Oh and Fix Guard CCs for heavens sake.

Old World Bosses losing the will to fight

in the past 2 days I've fought 2 overland world bosses in base game zones which refused to hit me back, allowing me to kill them solo without a fight. surely this is not intended. I know for sure this happened on the orc WB in northern rivenspire.

Let me start by saying, I have been an EP loyalist since 2014.

This is just an observation.

It seems since faction lock has been implemented that every campaign score has been extremely lopsided. If I remember correctly AD was doing very well at first, but since then EP has been steamrolling the other factions hard. I don't know if its entirely due to the faction lock, but it seems to be the cause.

My guess is that since EP started to beat much butt that more people chose EP characters for the win so to speak.. Anyway I digress, because of this IMO faction lock campaign has become boring. Every time I log on EP is winning by a 10k margin. I guess if you are like me, and want a point challenge there is no incentive when you are winning by 10k, have all the scrolls and the whole map is red. As a result I hardly PvP anymore, because bringing a beat down to an opponent that is already bleeding poses no interest for me.

I see some AD blob groups occasionally, and some good small man DC stuff happening but they are not presenting a challenge. Does anyone else out there feel like I do? Or am I wrong and faction lock has nothing to do with these blowout victories?

What can we do as a community to bring the fun, excitement, and challenge of a close scoring game back? Is faction lock a good thing or a bad? I think we need to bring this discussion back to the table.

Anyway thanks for listening, this has been on my mind for some time.

Top players really run meta build?

This is something I've been thinking of.
We all know the current stamina pvp meta is new moon fury bloodspawn, new moon spriggan or similars still around new moon.

I copied exactly one or those builds from top players which seems to hold so easily 1vs2 or 1vs3 with those sets.
I am all golden out and the result is terrible.

I know maybe I am not a great player and might be a l2p issue, but I played a Nord stamden in heavy new moon fury Bloodspawn with over 5k weapon damage and 30k resistances and even if i keep all my buffs up and rotate my vigor and arctic blast i still receive 13k executioners, 8k frags, 10k assassin's scourge (which i don't see casted never btw) and in a 1vs2 even using los i get destroyed within seconds.

At the same time I encounter other stamden or stamcros which receive barely no damage from me and destroy me.

And when i gently ask them: wow you are so good do you mind sharing what you run?
This is their answer:
Pay me 300k or l2p.

So this made me think, maybe they run something like pariah new moon? Armor master new moon?

I don't know guys, tell me if i should still try fury new moon to learn to play better and it's just a l2p issue because I don't know anymore.

And btw i am talking of CP enabled using good CPs same in the youtube videos and so on, 81 points ironclad and master of arms etc, so the damage should be there.

Ps4 bluescreen/load screen and INSANE LAG

The last update we got was “in January “ do we have a date for this update? The last patch to fix ps4 did actually nothing. People bluescreen 10+ times a day. Looking to see if they have an actual game plan to fix this

Edit: bluescreens are semi fixed. Still get multiple ones per day but not nearly as many. BUT now cyrodiil has such insane lag and skill delay it’s almost impossible to play in Kaal. This is effecting everyone. It’s all over zone chat and guilds, not just people with poor connection
