Venomous Smite in PvP

Dear ZOS,

I get it, you need to make your new chapter attractive to a broad audience, thus you introduced a new damage proc set with a comparably strong PBAOE, an easy proc condition, and not a lot of counterplay. But may I humbly ask that you please change it to a ground-based AOE and/or give it the Sload's Semblance projectile threatment rather sooner than later?

And while I'm at it, what's with empowering stealth snipers via Blood Frenzy and Strike from the Shadows passive, lessening the risk that would balance the playstyle with the Undead passive, and all this with the ongoing atrocious Snipe desyncs?

Hello There,
I have already posted a "Looking for Tanking Coach" post couple days ago and served the web to find an website that existed back then about professional MMORPG roles coaching through Hard contents. Believe me there are people who don't want to waste PUG's or Guild mates time going through a continent with a failed perform level and would pay for coaching.

the old vampire was very balanced! 2 good passives (resource reg & resistance on low health) versus 2 drawbacks (low health reg & weakness to fire). THIS IS BALANCED!
now we basically have 3 very big drawbacks versus 1 (resistance on low health). there is no motivation here, to become vampire anymore (other than pure roleplaying, which is fun tho).
the cost reduction for vampire abilities is quite pointless, since there is nothing realy usable to do constant dmg and everything is very situational.
*) vampire should get the old magick&stam reg back - this was ESSENTIAL in beeing a vampire
*) the ability-cost-system also needs a change - eighter take the ability cost increase away, or give us some good dmg skills.
pls ZOS! this CANNOT STAY THAT WAY

Game completely freezes for me while in dungeons/arenas/trials, but not in overworld

PC, EU server. Clean, updated Windows installation, updated GPU drivers. Tried reinstalling the game with no success.

Game freezes randomly during group dungeons/arenas/trials, and in such a bad way that I've to close the Windows session in order to regain control of my PC. It doesn't seem to freeze in any overworld content (aka, while questing), or public dungeons (although it did froze once while in a Delve). It's especially bad in Maelstrom Arena, where it ALWAYS freezes while battling the final boss in Stage 1.

Curiously enough, I've 0 problems even on dolmens with lots of monsters and 20 players or more, but just today I tried doing a RND in the IC Sewers, and it froze while battling the very first group of enemies :P

This never happened to me pre-Greymoor patch, and in fact I haven't installed anything on my gaming PC ever since.

I do love the addition of Scrying and Excavating items in Greymoor. But I'm at a point right now where, besides it keeping me busy, I don't have anything to do with the stuff I excavation. I mean, none of the furnishings or the gear that we can uncover is sellable. So why go after it again and again? I mean, how many stone arches can you place in your homes? Wondering why we can't sell them at the Traders. And actually, lots of the treasures, I sure wish they were furnishing knick-knacks!

So any ideas?

Freezing fighting Lich bosses

PS4: My game is freezing anytime a Lich enemy uses their anchor move. It’s the only time my game has frozen since Greymoor but it’s happening consistently:

Specific locations:
Telesubi Ruins (Bangkorai)
Village of the Lost (Coldharbour)

I can’t complete either area due to this issue.

Is the performance bottleneck GPU ?

The new expansion runs reasonably well 45+ except in Solitude where fps drops to 15-20. (Sadly, Solitude doesn't even look that great; its like a different style of graphic with harsh outlines of everything.) This also happens in boss fights / dolmens when there are many adds or other players.

The computer is an i7 OC to 4.6G, with 16G. The GPU is a 7850HD. Latest drives.

It may be time to upgrade, however, if the game is not GPU bound, there would be little reason to upgrade the graphics card. Trying to decide if a new graphics card would be a meaningful upgrade or if memory is the culprit, or the game is just unable to cope with these scenarios, even on top of the line machine.

Boost's Time Drained While Offline

Many times I've logged out and off of my account when I've had lots of time left on my current buffs/boosts, only to find when I play next that they've either drained-down a bunch of time, or have disappeared completely. What's up with that? It's rather a waste, and a vexing one too.

Is Critical Damage overpowered?

Base Critical Damage is 50%. This basically means that if you are not running a build focused on Critical Damage you simply cannot compete with endgame DPS. This creates a bottleneck of options for viable builds in the game and limits options. I believe that one solution would be to nerf the base Critical Damage but then buff the Shadow Mundus and relative CP nodes to offset the nerf. This would make it so that critical builds would still be viable options without them being the de facto 'go to' for end game DPS. For Example:

Nerf base Critical Damage from 50% to 25%.

Buff Shadow Mundus from 13% to 25%.

Buff Precise Strikes and Elfborn from 25% to 35%.

* If all of these are implemented it is only a 3% nerf to Critical Damage if specifically built for.


Once those are done you could then buff Elemental Expert and Mighty to 25% and Thaumaturge to 35%. Maybe also buff other Mundus stones such as Warrior and Apprentice if the numbers still are not close.

With these changes you could actually promote different play styles without forcing people to build for Critical Damage while still maintaining Critical builds at the top if they are specifically built for.

How to change path for ESO (Steam)

Okay so:

I tried just copying over the files into a newly created steam library on the SSD, but when I try to open ESO, it sticks with the old path and I can't change it.

I can't change the path in Properties on Steam either because the move files just isn't an option there.

Anyone know how to get this fixed?

We originally catered to primarily new players however as we have progressed through the game we are now a home for veterans as well.     ESO is expensive

    Well after resisting coming back to eso I dropped over 100 bucks Greymoor & Eso plus.
    This is one of the most expensive Games to play been resisting buying the chapter hate the idea of being charged for dlc and sub also time constraints but I gave in ;)
    ESO is one of the best MMO just hate the business model that charges for everything...almost as bad EA and sims ;)

    Game freezes/stutters after getting xp/killing mobs! PLEASE FIX THIS ALREADY

    Greymoor - my first big update in ESO. WORST update.
    I'm playing ESO for 3 weeks now, I got used to high ping and server lags + tons of bugs. I had to wait 3 days for you to fix a bug with main quest (light from darkness), I guess it's somehow excusable.
    BUT!
    HOW can you not fix problem that literally takes every fun from this game? How it's still a thing after a week? How it's still not fixed after yesterday's patch? After 4 hour break?
    Please look at this and tell me how am I supposed to enjoy this game.

    As you can see on videos - game becomes slide show while killing mobs.
    From my observations:
    For game to stutter mob(s) has to die - the more the more visible it is.
    You need to get xp from these mobs.
    There is not a single stutter/freeze/lag whatever you call it before any mob die.
    It doesn't matter whether you are attacking, using abilities, jumping from window or destroying your monitor, as long as your character see mobs dying and you are getting xp it happens.
    Before greymoor update everything was fine, now game besides battleground is just unplayable, I can't even lvl up my character.
    AND NO
    THIS IS
    NOT A PROBLEM
    WITH MY COMPUTER
    DO NOT TELL ME
    TO REINSTALL MY DRIVERS
    TO REPAIR GAME
    TO REINSTALL GAME
    TO CHECK IF IT'S NOT MY EYES THAT ARE LAGGING
    I did everything, from downloading newest drivers, reinstalling game to turning off every single addon.
    I even changed my fps cap from 100 to 240 to see if it changes anything - no.
    Please acknowledge it's on your side and fix this before you lose any players.
    And yes, it's not just me, my friend has the same exact problem and from what I have seen on forum some people do too.

    In case you didn't realize it yet - it's not a problem with fps or performance. Something in your game is just broken.

    PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT PATCH/UPDATE TO FIX THIS. IT REALLY DOES MAKE THE GAME UNPLAYABLE FOR SOME PEOPLE.

    Templar-Do ALL skills scale with resource they use?

    Naturally clear cases are those, that says "Scale off health" or "Scales with highest offensive stat"... That is if stat means resource there.

    What i mean, is if i do a Stamina build with most on Stamina, some less on health and few to Magicka, does that then mean, that ALL skills that use magicka, will be "lackcluster" meaning they wont do much dfamage or heal?

    I mean i want to make a build which is far from normal.. Meaning that i dont care THAT much abpout damage and stuff, but if i use only 10 points on magicka, does that mean myRushed seremony for example will heal very litle so iut will jusrt drain alol magicka before using it actually makes any difference or using reflective light or solar barrage or dark flare just mean they drain the resources without doing much difference in battle?

    What i do most, is questing, public dungeons or soloing dungeons. Does making an unotrhodox buoild mean,that i am unable to do one of those activities without constantly dying and going out oif resources?

    Would be much more fun doing these odd builds by the way, if there would not be any scaling on abilities and resources were just to measure how many times you can use something.

    So, after multiple runs on different mag and stam toons (mostly mag) in nMA post-Greymoor, here's a tally of my drops:

    Cruel Flurry: 11 sets (2A/3D/5M/12S)
    Thunderous Volley: 3 sets
    Merciless Charge: 5 sets (1BA/2GS/2M)
    Crushing Wall: 2 sets (2L)
    Precise Regeneration: 1 set
    Rampaging Slash: 0 sets

    If the RNG is set based (which would make logical sense), you should have an equal chance of getting any one of the sets. That would appear to make the most sense from a programming and player rewards standpoint, since individual weapons don't drop. In this design, there would be a nested probability that you will get a particular weapon within a set given that you received a particular set. After 22 runs, there should be a 98 percent probability that I'd get at least one of every set. The most likely outcome after 22 runs is that I'd have at least 3 of each set.

    Looking at drop probabilities, that gives us a probability table that looks like this:

    If, however, the RNG is based on the weapon drop and if the shield drop is tied to the Rampaging Slash set while Cruel Flurry is tied to one-handers, the probability table looks like this:

    which more closely matches the distribution of drops I'm currently experiencing. The probability that I didn't receive a single drop of Rampaging Slash in the first case is less than 2 percent, and in the second case, it's 17%.

    As such, I'd bet that the RNG is tied to weapon drops (the second case), and if that is true, and further assuming that it is not biased in any way, two things to note for you mag toons: you are much more likely to get Cruel Flurry when you run the arena than anything else, and the number of times you'd need to run it to have a 99% chance of getting a single Inferno Staff is 58. I'm trying to get one for each of my 4 mag dps toons who do not currently have it, which means to come close to guaranteeing that each of of them get an inferno staff, I'll need to run nMA 232 times, at about 45 minutes per run (including loading times), or roughly 174 hours of gametime. If I have 3-4 hours to play each day, including writs, trials, etc, I'd have to forgo all other activities and just run nMA every day on multiple alts for my entire gaming time for nearly 50 days straight to achieve that goal. Or, I can do it once per day and just wait until next year to finish the outfitting process for my mag dps toons, I suppose.

    Bummer.

    I guess I'll continue keeping this record until I get so sick of nMA that I give up - if anyone has data they've tallied that they'd like to add, feel free to chime in.


    Dig sites should have auditory or vibration clues

    Even when I've maxed out Keen Eye: Dig Sites I will miss ones that are probably 5 feet in front of me because consoles take longer to pop in assets than PC.

    It's the most needed skill but since it doesn't work right I'm left to scour the area 2 or 3 times before something that should have popped up 30 meters away finally decides to show.
