Beginner looking for help

Hi! My name is Lucas and I'm new to The Elder Scrolls: Online ;)

I'm looking for the best solo builds for beginners. The problem is, that I can't really decide whether I should pick an "easy-to-learn" build like Magicka Sorcerer/Magicka Templar or a build which playstyle I enjoy the most (which is stealth assassin/archer thief, so probably Stamina Nightblade DW+Bow Thief). I read that NB is not beginner-friendly and I need to understand game and class mechanics first before doing one. Also, if I remember correctly, Magicka Templars are probably the best to clear almost all content of the game while playing solo.

I have TESO Gold Edition (Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild and Orsinium DLCs). I'm not ESO+ Member... yet (?)

Let me ask some questions to be more clear:

1. Is Nightblade DW/Bow Thief build good for beginners?
1a. (if yes): Can I clear almost all of the content of the game by playing this build?
1b. (if no): Which build should I play as beginner to understand game mechanics?
2. Can I utilize thief skills while playing other classes than Nightblade?
3. What kind of builds are most "valuable" for other players while doing dungeons?
4. Should I focus on my build since beginning or not? I heard that people are playing "like they want" until they hit level 50, then they respec and get cp points for end-game (?)

That's pretty all I want to ask. Hopefully you can understand me well (let's be honest, my English is pretty bad). My ESO is waiting like 2 days now for me to start it, I can't wait!

I'm not real sure where to put this, but his name is Spells-In-Shadows. However, I've seen Argonians with "in" in their names lowercased as well "In" Why? I want Spells to be lore friendly but also proper spelling.

After much frustration myself and a couple of friends completed the Scalecaller peak challenger achievement and collected our new skin and title!

Awsome PUG experience!

Okay guys i have to share this.
Todays peasent pledges on xbone EU were Direfrost keep (great dungeon btw), spindle 2 and Cradle of sh**. So i give the activity finder the usual try and end up in cradle on the 2 first occations.
It was as you would expect: alot of blaming all others for poor random group dynamics and disbanden within 10min. Then on my third attempt at the ambiguous groupfinder i find my self in the keep of Direfrost and we breeze through it Ladies and gentlemen!
even with a CP 100something in the low end, right up till the last boss where devil takes hold of our, so far, christian server and we die and die and boom its a frustration disbanden with some unsaveory remarks in chat and fingers pointed at the low cp guy (who did an okay job actualy).
Slightly disharted i try again and struck gold! Not only did i manage to find a group of great players all, but also kind and polite. We pummeled Drodda and whiped the floor with Edward Twilight, congratulating eachother all the while and developing more and more of a comradery in chat.
So we come to the coup de gras, what i surely though would be the end of the road for this the merry band, the shadowy cradle of fat spidermom.
I tell them full disclosure that i have never completed the vet version before (i got kicked at the end last time i made it there, but fairly so. I didn’t provide the nessesary dps back then).
Turns out two of the others had never been able to complete it either, and the fourth had only done it once with personal friends and before our PUG sworn never to try it again:D... we make it surprisingly effortless to the end. we huddle up. Send one of to repair his gear, another to get a beer from the fridge, we reassure eachother that it will probably take alot of tries and there is no reason to leave the group since we could allways do it norm if this didnt work out.
It took us 2 fails.
The third attempt was an utter succes! The “Good job everyone” emotes were spewen out in troves the “cheer” was never ending and the “OMFG dude you saved my ass” was written in all caps dear reader! In the end i finished my first hard vet dungeon with glorious randoms, PUG’ed my way to the ever elusive mask of Veli(dead) made 3 new additions to my friends list and would you look at that my silken ring motif page just sold for 80k :)
Its in moments like that this game realy shines! All the Best! And prais be to the sometimes, somwhat relliable Activity finder.

[Issue report] Dragon bones DLC

Just reporting the following issues I have been having since the update dropped. (all the add-ons are disabled.). This is all during open world pvp and dueling (prime and not prime time).
  • My skills take unusually longer to cast.
  • Weapon swap sometimes does not register.
  • The animation of me getting CCed player way later then the actual CC.
  • When CCed my character lays on the ground and moves around while still on the group.
  • CC brake animation sometimes does not register or it does but takes longer
  • When casting swallow soul some time my character gets stuck in swallow soul animation sticking the hand out and waiting till the projectile from swallow soul returns.
  • Sometimes I am dead before even anything happens on the screen.
  • Shade works amazing. so I have that going for me. How you doing ?

Anyone else not able to enter 'Andrano Ancestral Tomb' in Vvardenfell (and getting fed up of this)?

Playing on Xbox EU, I tried to start the Morrowind questline with one of my Alts (already completed it with two of them). When I try to progress the main questline by entering 'Andrano Ancestral Tomb' I get booted back to the Main Splash screen with 'Unable to connect to game server'.

Tried this with my main character as well (who has already completed the entire questline) and sure enough it crashes straight back to the Start.

This essentially breaks the entire questline (and if I were a new player, the entire game as they're now railroaded into starting in Vvardenfall).

Now before somebody tries to pass the buck (as per usual), no, this isn't due to an 'Xbox Live Service Interruption' - it's working fine for all my other games and the game actually allows me to get to Vvardenfell in the first place (which it wouldn't let me do if it didn't recognise I owned the content). I can also enter other locations in Vvardenfell with my main character, so there's nothing wrong there.

Nor is it 'my console' - after several 'cache clears', I eventually found it does the same whether I use my Xbox One S or my Xbox One X (which use different storage, so I essentially have two copies).

It seems to have done this since the last patch (and incidentally, the game seems to randomly decide whether or not it wants to use HDR each time I've started it since the last patch as well)

Morrowind has always been flaky on Xbox, ever since launch (if I had a dollar for every time I ran up invisible stairs in the Palace of Vivec, got 're-instanced' without warning, had the sound drop out or just had the whole thing lock up and crash, I could have paid for somebody to fix the damned thing), but now rendering the DLC 80% unplayable is ridiculous.

And if the answer is 'uninstall and reinstall again', then I'd rather just uninstall and get my money back, because I'm not buggering around by downloading and installing 81GB all over again, thanks...

what does animation canceling even do

i've tried it, with blocking, bar-swapping, but i don't see the effect. Even if i cancel an ability, and press the next button, my character stands still for 0.5 sec until it starts going. The only cancel i do well is when i weave a light attack between the abilities.

As the title says, so much lag everywhere, hard to even play at all.
Before ZOS tries to say, forward ports, reinstall game ect. This has only happened since Wednesdays maintenance and I am not the only person having this issue.

Got my Khajiit to level 20 last night. Got my free crown crate. Had purchased a few of the flame crates before, was kinda holding out hope for a different version of the rebreather, maybe some more gems. Nothing too special. I mean its a free crate, no harm no foul.

Pacrooti appears before me, his devilish grin burning into my soul. He throws out my cards and one erupts with flames behind it. "Huh", I think to myself. as I said I had grabbed some flame crates before, but don't remember that animation playing. To my complete and utter surprise...

Imagine my surprise. It's the Guar too, literally the one flame mount I thought was the coolest of the set. So my question for you: Do you remember the events surrounding you getting your first Apex? Which one was it? And which season? If you haven't gotten one yet, which one do you froth at the mouth for?

500 Slots used for the arena, secret cave underneath arena, and the name in the water. Leaves me 200 to do the entire castle, and the whole courtyard... In all honesty I don't even think doubling the available item slots would be enough to make a manor look decent. ZOS has said in the past they started out extremely low to see how the servers could handle it, and planned on increasing the item limit. Yet this did not come with the expansion we all paid an extra $60 for? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert No announcement regarding this issue for the next dlc???

i don't say nerf magsorc or magden or whatever, just the absorbs amount is ridiculous. Stacking the resto shield when low hp and annulment will grant over 20k absorb, which can be spammed. I must have 40k dps in a pvp build to even break that down. And i can't compare the amount of resources i waste to get through this against the resources to apply these absorbs. Don't come to me with things like "get shieldbreaker" yeah everyone let's get this one set because of every mag build running absorbs.

Werewolf Bug makes it almost unusable

This is really pissing me off ZOS, it's bad enough you nerfed werewolves for no reason but now we got a bug that keeps reverting form, sometimes instantly, sometimes after a few minutes, but either way it makes it almost unusable and wasting ult. It seems to be when you get hit by certain abilities, friendly or hostile, I haven't discovered which skills yet but it doesn't happen all the time.
Please fix this soon, instead of making us wait until Q2 or even longer. It was already hard to use and now it's just awful.
